Job Summary
ByteDance is looking for a Network Software Development Engineer to join its high-speed network team. This team is responsible for designing, building, and operating the global, intelligent network infrastructure for ByteDance's popular apps like Douyin and TikTok. The ideal candidate will have experience in designing and developing high-speed network technologies, building software and tools for network infrastructure, and working with Linux networking technologies. They will also have a strong understanding of TCP/IP protocols and network devices.
Must Have
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent with two or more years of work experience
- Good developing experience with one or more following languages: Golang/Python/C++
- A solid understanding of Linux network stack, experience in Linux TC, iptables and eBPF.
- Familiarity with Linux operating system, hands-on experience working in Linux environment.
- Familiarity with TCP/IP protocols and other common networking protocols.
- Good understanding of network devices and network technologies.
Good to Have
- Familiar with RDMA/RoCE network protocol
- Experience in developing software systems for large-scale data center networks or distributed systems

Job Description
The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $224000 - $410000 annually.
Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
