Job Description

The NSA Process Engineer – Paint (12 Months Contract) is responsible for planning and introducing paint processes according to Nissan Global Standards, performing fault finding, and driving continuous improvement. Key responsibilities include maintaining process standards, managing projects related to process materials and changes, ensuring adherence to environmental standards, and compiling QCT reports. The role requires 3-5 years of experience in Paint and Manufacturing, along with a National Diploma in Mechanical/Chemistry Engineering.
Must have:
  • Planning and introduction of process in accordance with NML and Nissan Global Standards
  • Fault finding and correction, implementation of standards and adherence
  • Continuous improvement and production technical support
  • Maintenance and introduction of necessary process standards and equipment with regards to process control
  • Innovation and driving improvement
  • Perform process audits to ensure adherence to standards processes
  • Analysis of problem areas and implementation of counter measures in accordance with PDCA-cycle
  • Compile weekly/monthly reports on QCT items in accordance with business plans
  • Follow up on supplier commitments and activity
  • Introduction and control of process materials
  • Control and implementation of changes according to design and engineering standards
  • Verification of Operation manual against drawing and G2B
  • Ensure adherence to SES & FPES, environment standards
  • Compile project plan according to specific project requirements
  • Project management to ensure successful execution according to project/ product plan
  • Evaluate and monitor project and remedial actions taken to address variances
  • Report on a daily, weekly and monthly basis on status of projects
  • Ensure cost control according to the forecasted budget & set parameters

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum Qualifications: National Diploma in Mechanical/chemistry Engineering
  • Minimum Requirements Experience: 3 – 5 years’ experience in Paint and Manufacturing

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

1. Paint application

  • Planning and introduction of process in accordance with NML and Nissan Global Standards
  • Fault finding and correction, implementation of standards and adherence. Continuous improvement and production technical support.

2. Change implementation Q C T

  • Maintenance and introduction of necessary process standards and equipment with regards to process control. Innovation and driving improvement.

3. Problem resolution

  • Perform process audits to ensure adherence to standards processes.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

CRITICAL KNOWLEDGE

  • Knowledge and understanding of engineering processes
  • Paint topcoat and Pre-treatment
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and industry standards
  • Basic Financial knowledge (Budgeting & PIC & controlling)
  • Knowledge of global best engineering practices
  • Computer literacy, including excel advance
  • Knowledge of relevant quality systems
  • Knowledge of tool making
  • Knowledge of painting application

CRTICAL COMPETENCIES

  • Complete understanding of business environment, policies and procedures
  • Ability to actively, analyze and improve methods or processes
  • Strong investigation and analysis ability.
  • Understand the technical fundamentals of needs and feasibility analysis
  • Attention to detail and compliance to set standards.
  • Capacity to maintain and follow set guidelines and references with regards to business operations
  • Complete understanding of the importance of customer requirements (internal / external)
