Job Summary
This Operations DevOps Engineer II role at CSG involves supporting code deployment, performing product installation and configuration, and managing incidents. The engineer will monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to optimize efficiency. Must Have
- Experience configuring, managing and upgrading servers and software
- Experience with RDS database applications (eg. Oracle, MySQL) and administration
- Able to recognize and independently resolve issues
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Proven collaboration skills
- Ability to work independently or with teams
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering or related field
- 2-3 years’ experience with development and release processes
Good to Have
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Subversion, Git, Azure DevOps, SaltStack)
- Working knowledge of caching concepts, network and infrastructure models
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
- Software development experience on Linux platforms in common scripting languages (Perl, Python, Groovy, Ruby, bash)
- Experience with Logstash and Elastic
- Familiarity with Kibana, JIRA and Remedy
- Proficiency in cloud platform tools such as AWS Cloud Services, Cloudtrail, Lambda, System Manager, Disaster Recovery Solutions
- Experience working across multiple time zones
- Growing ability to train and mentor other team members of all seniorities
- AWS certification is preferred
Job Description
What you'll do:
- Supporting code deployment releases and promotions within test and production environments
- Perform product installation and configuration with some troubleshooting assistance from others in Operations
- Incident management including the investigation, and triage of various software application and database issues, while collaborating with internal teams to ensure fast turnaround times on issue/incident resolution
- Monitor solutions production, customer test and internal environments for function and performance
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to optimize efficiency and minimize downtime.
- Maintain monitoring tools and systems to proactively identify and address potential issues.
- Install, configure and upgrade third party products and open source solutions
- Participate in and contribute at daily stand-up meetings
- Execution and validation of deployment installation, configuration, release processes and procedures
- Develop and maintain automation tools and processes to streamline operations and improve productivity
- Document operational and system architecture process and configuration and identify automation opportunities where applicable
- Participating in the Operations 24x7 on-call rotation schedule
- When needed, active participation in critical problem resolution outside of typical working hours
- An employee may perform duties outside of the listed responsibilities as needed
Minimum Requirements:

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering (Electrical, Software, or Telecommunications) or a related field.
- Minimum 2 -3 years’ experience with development and release processes
- AWS certification is preferred but not required
