Meet the Team
The Assembly and Packaging team at Silicon Labs partners with suppliers and product teams to ensure successful new product introductions and innovative packaging solutions. We collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to design and validate packaging approaches that balance performance, reliability, and manufacturability. Our mission is to deliver high-quality, cost-effective solutions that support our clients’ diverse applications in the semiconductor space.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate new product introduction (NPI) activities with suppliers, ensuring readiness for manufacturing.
- Partner with in-house product teams to develop and optimize packaging designs tailored to customer needs.
- Conduct technical analyses using simulation and modeling software to evaluate packaging performance.
- Support manufacturing process development and problem-solving for packaging-related issues.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across assembly, packaging, and supply chain operations.
- Document design and qualification processes, ensuring compliance with quality and reliability standards.
Skills You Need
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
- Strong foundation in materials, fluid mechanics, and manufacturing principles.
- Proficiency with at least one simulation or design tool (e.g., AutoCAD, Ansys).
- Familiarity with supply chain considerations in semiconductor or related industries.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to collaborate across teams.
The Following qualifications will be considered a plus:
- Experience with Ansys for simulation or analysis.
- Familiarity with Cadence or other electronic design automation (EDA) tools.
- Prior exposure to semiconductor packaging design and validation processes.
- Hands-on project or internship experience related to materials, packaging, or manufacturing engineering.
- Knowledge of reliability testing, thermal/mechanical stress analysis, or advanced packaging technologies.

The annualized base pay range for this role is expected to be between $66,500 - $123,500 USD. Actual base pay could vary based on factors including but not limited to experience, geographic location where work will be performed and applicant’s skill set. The base pay is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include an annual cash bonus, equity package and a comprehensive benefits package.
