Job Description

Nissan is seeking a Powertrain Performance Engineer in Stanfield, Arizona. This role involves setting up vehicle data measurement experiments, reprogramming vehicles, analyzing data, and investigating issues. The engineer will calibrate powertrain tuning parameters for acceleration and drivability, collaborating with global R&D teams. Candidates need a strong understanding of automotive technology, 5+ years of experience, and proficiency in MS Office. Preferred skills include knowledge of engine/transmission control systems and experience with data acquisition tools.
Good To Have:
  • Detail knowledge of Engine and Transmission operation and control systems.
  • Understanding of electrified Powertrain architecture.
  • Data processing, analysis and presentation to provide fact-based reporting.
  • Experience with vehicle data acquisition and analysis tools such as ETAS/INCA, Vector/CANalyzer.
  • Experience with parameter tuning and performance calibration.
Must Have:
  • Robust understanding of automotive technology with hands-on experience.
  • 5 or more years of related professional experience.
  • Sensitivity to perceive, discern and characterize vehicle performance.
  • Ability to function independently and act proactively.
  • Strong team-collaboration, communication, project management and organizational skills.
  • Proficient with MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering Discipline.
  • Must have valid United States driver’s license.

We are currently looking for a Powertrain Performance Engineer to join our team.

Job functions include but are not limited to:

  • Creation and setup of vehicle data measurement experiments using industry standard and specialized test equipment and software.
  • Vehicle reprogramming, data analysis and root cause issue investigation.
  • Calibration of powertrain tuning parameters for both acceleration and drivability performance.
  • Collaboration with other Powertrain teams and cross-functionally within global R&D departments.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Robust understanding of automotive technology with hands-on experience.
  • 5 or more years of related professional experience
