Activision Publishing is currently hiring for a PR Manager, Mobile, to join the Call of Duty franchise. We’re looking for an experienced communications professional to join our team helping us tell our stories and engage with our community of mobile players around the world. The position requires strong organizational skills as well as an ability to work independently in a fast-moving team dynamic and evolving landscape. Skills such as data-driven analytics, attention to detail, creativity and strong cross-functional communications will be crucial toward success. The ideal candidate has 8+ years of direct PR experience as well as being social media-savvy, experienced with entertainment properties, knowledgeable of mobile games, and most of all a passion for games, including Call of Duty.
Must have:
  • Execute global Call of Duty: Mobile PR communication plans
  • Represent the communications team as the day-to-day contact cross-functionally
  • Draft PR materials, including product messaging, talking points, fact sheets
  • Assist in media training, staff press briefings and interviews
  • Serve as point of contact with press interactions
  • Craft creative storytelling concepts, press pitches
  • Follow through on earned media opportunities
  • Identify potential PR opportunities for recommendation
  • Lead PR measurement and analysis tracking
  • Deliver timely, relevant and insight recaps and reporting internally
  • Stay plugged into the latest trends across mobile games
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and real-time communication needs
Good to have:
  • Experience in entertainment, tech, gaming, mobile games
  • Knowledge and/or familiarity with Call of Duty, video games and mobile games
  • Experience working with influencers

The ideal candidate has 8+ years of direct PR experience as well as being social media-savvy, experienced with entertainment properties, knowledgeable of mobile games, and most of all a passion for games, including Call of Duty.

Priorities can often change in a fast-paced environment like ours, so this role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:

  • Execute global Call of Duty: Mobile PR communication plans
  • Represent the communications team as the day-to-day contact cross-functionally with internal teams, partners, agencies and regional teams on plan executions, updates and changes
  • Draft PR materials, including product messaging, talking points, fact sheets
  • Assist in media training, staff press briefings and interviews and serve as point of contact with press interactions
  • Help craft creative storytelling concepts, press pitches and follow through on earned media opportunities
  • Identify potential PR opportunities for recommendation
  • Lead PR measurement and analysis tracking to deliver timely, relevant and insight recaps and reporting internally
  • Stay plugged into the latest trends across mobile games
  • Ability to manage a multiple priorities and real-time communication needs

Player Profile

  • Minimum 8 years of PR experience, experience in entertainment, tech, gaming, mobile games is preferred
  • Detailed-oriented, deadline-driven, multi-tasking and adaptability
  • Team player able to successfully liaise and communicate laterally across team and functional stakeholders as well as regionally with teams around the world
  • Appetite for all things digital and social, up to date on the latest platforms and technologies, as well as a desire to identify opportunities for real-time, issues-driven communications
  • Proactive self-starter and hungry to roll-up sleeves to complete project needs
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills; experienced with press and earned media pitches
  • Detail-oriented, self-directed skills including ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, including adaptability to fluid situations and last-minute changes
  • Experience in multicultural environment, global entertainment releases
  • Knowledge and/or familiarity with Call of Duty, video games and mobile games, a plus
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Working knowledge of social platforms and associated analytics programs and tools such as Sprinklr, Meltwater, Cision
  • Bachelor’s degree in creative writing, communications, journalism, public relations, or marketing
  • Experience working with influencers a plus
