Job Description

The Pricing Director will design, implement, and refine pricing models for AI cloud solutions and hardware, considering costs, competitive positioning, and value. This role involves empowering sales teams with strategic guidance, conducting market research, optimizing pricing structures using data analytics, and collaborating cross-functionally. The director will also analyze customer adoption, develop subscription and consumption models, and monitor pricing KPIs to maximize revenue and profitability in the AI and cloud space. This position requires presence in our San Francisco or San Jose office location 4 days per week.
Must have:
  • Develop and execute pricing strategies for AI cloud solutions and hardware.
  • Empower sales teams with strategic guidance on deal structuring and negotiations.
  • Conduct market research and competitive benchmarking in AI and cloud.
  • Optimize pricing structures using data analytics and financial modeling.
  • Collaborate with product, finance, sales, and marketing teams.
  • Analyze customer adoption and usage data.
  • Develop and refine subscription, pay-as-you-go, and enterprise licensing models.
  • Track pricing KPIs and make data-driven recommendations.
  • 7+ years experience in pricing strategy, revenue management, or financial analysis in AI, cloud, SaaS, or enterprise tech.
  • Strong strategic thinking and cross-functional leadership.
  • Proficiency in data analytics, financial modeling, Excel, SQL, Tableau.
  • Strong business and financial acumen.
  • Deep understanding of cloud computing pricing models and the AI ecosystem.
Good to have:
  • BSEE and MBA or relevant master’s degree preferred.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop and Execute Pricing Strategies: Design, implement, and refine pricing models for AI cloud solutions and hardware products, considering cost structures, competitive positioning, and value-based pricing.
  • Empower sales teams by delivering strategic guidance on deal structuring, custom deal negotiations, navigating approval workflows, and promoting best practices that accelerate deal velocity and efficiency
  • Market and Competitive Analysis: Conduct ongoing market research and competitive benchmarking to assess pricing trends, customer willingness to pay, and emerging pricing models in the AI and cloud space.
  • Pricing Optimization: Use data analytics and financial modeling to optimize pricing structures, bundling strategies, and discounting frameworks to maximize revenue and profitability
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product management, finance, sales, and marketing teams to align pricing strategies with business objectives, customer acquisition goals, and operational constraints.
  • Customer and Usage Insights: Analyze customer adoption patterns, usage data, and feedback to refine pricing strategies and improve customer value perception
  • Subscription & Consumption Models: Develop and refine pricing strategies for subscription-based, pay-as-you-go, and enterprise licensing models tailored to different customer segments.
  • Performance Monitoring: Track key pricing KPIs, revenue impact, and competitive positioning, making data-driven recommendations for continuous improvement.

You

  • Education: degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field; BSEE and MBA or relevant master’s degree preferred.
  • Experience: 7+ years of experience in pricing strategy, revenue management, or financial analysis, in AI, cloud computing, SaaS, or enterprise technology.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop long-term pricing strategies that align with business goals and evolving market trends.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Proven ability to work across teams and influence decision-making in a fast-paced, highly technical environment.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex pricing concepts into actionable insights for leadership and sales teams.
  • Analytical Expertise: Strong proficiency in data analytics, financial modeling, and analysis tools such as Excel, SQL, Tableau, or other BI tools preferred.
  • A strong business and financial acumen.
  • Have experience of various pricing strategies and the implementation.
  • Use of objective analysis and sound judgment to identify the best course of action.
  • Ability to exert influence on the relevant key stakeholders through persuasive discussion.
  • Strong attention to accuracy and detail is required.
  • AI Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of cloud computing pricing models (e.g., subscription, consumption-based, tiered pricing) and the AI ecosystem.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) and their pricing structures.

The annual salary range for this position has been set based on market data and other factors. However, a salary higher or lower than this range may be appropriate for a candidate whose qualifications differ meaningfully from those listed in the job description.
