Gigamon is looking for a Principal Engineer/Architect for their growing Cloud & AI team. This role requires a strong technical leader to guide the engineering team, define the roadmap with the product management team, and engage with sales teams and customers. The Principal Engineer will be responsible for owning and driving the direction and architecture of Gigamon’s Cloud and AI Suite of Products. The engineer will also work with the engineering team to execute and deliver products and features, and mentor technical leads and junior team members. This role also involves participating in release management and engaging in key customer and partner discussions.
Must have:

- Ability to drive innovation at the core of Gigamon’s Cloud & AI products
- Deep knowledge of networking architectures in public, private, and hybrid clouds
- Proven track record of building products in cloud platforms
- Experience working with AI technologies

- Experience working on Analytics and Security products
- Experience working with distributed teams

Gigamon is seeking a Principal Engineer/Architect for a growing Cloud & AI team. We are looking for someone who has strong sense of product ownership, can technically guide the engineering team, work with product management team to define the roadmap and engage with sales teams and customers as needed. This position requires a strong technical leader with proven track record of building innovative products in AI, Cloud and Networking.
Requirements
- Strong hands on technical leader who is passionate about building great products
- Ability to drive Innovation that is at the core of Gigamon’s Cloud and AI Suite of products
- Deep knowledge of networking architectures and standards in public, private and hybrid clouds
- Proven track record of building products in private and public cloud platforms like Vmware, OpenStack, AWS, Azure, GCP and Containers
- Experience working with AI technologies – LLMs, RAG, Embeddings, ROCE, AI network Infrastructure
- Experience building highly scalable enterprise AI applications
- Extensive experience in micro services architectures, scaling and load balancing
- Ability to translate a high level vision into executable plan from a technical perspective
- Ability and willingness to mentor technical leads and larger engineering team
- Strong communication skills, ability to handle roadmap changes and multi-task on various projects
- Experience working with UI/UX and front-end engineering is a plus
- Experience building network management systems is a plus
- Experience working on Analytics and Security products is a plus
- Experience working with distributed teams is a plus
Primary duties include, but not limited to:
- Own and drive the direction and architecture of Gigamon’s Cloud and AI Suite of Products
- Work with Product Management, Sales teams, and customers to help define and execute the Cloud & AI Roadmap
- Work with engineering management, technical leads, and the engineering team to execute and deliver products and features
- Lead and approve functional and design specification reviews
- Mentor technical leads and junior team members
- Engage and participate in the release management process and decisions
- Engage in key customer and partner discussions that define the direction of products
The base salary compensation range targeted for this role, based out of Gigamon’s Santa Clara, CA, Headquarters office, is [$220,000 - $275,000], with an opportunity to earn an annual bonus or commission (subject to the plan's terms and conditions). This salary range is an estimate, and the actual salary may vary based on the Company’s compensation practices.
