Rebel Wolves is seeking a Principal/Senior Tech Artist to join their team for "The Blood of Dawnwalker," a AAA story-driven dark fantasy RPG. The role involves developing and implementing efficient technical solutions, mentoring other Tech Artists, and identifying technical risks. The artist will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to align creative and technical perspectives, ensuring the delivery of high-quality gameplay experiences. This position requires a proactive, solution-oriented mindset and strong English proficiency. Must have:
  • Minimum 7 years as a Technical Artist in a senior role
  • At least one commercially shipped AAA title
  • Deep knowledge of Unreal Engine 5
  • Asset optimization and profiling tools
  • Console optimization (XSS/PS5) experience
  • Basic rendering programming skills
  • Strong English (written and spoken)
  • Proactive and solution-oriented mindset

Rebel Wolves is a new studio, but our team has years of experience working on some of the most critically acclaimed video games of all time. We co-created titles such as “The Witcher 3”, “Cyberpunk 2077”, and many others. We decided to create and run our own studio on our own terms. Chief among them: the team comes first, always. We’re working on The Blood of Dawnwalker - AAA story-driven dark fantasy RPG for PCs and consoles in Unreal Engine 5. And we’re looking for you to join us!

The Blood of Dawnwalker features a unique, immersive melee combat system, and the animation's visual style is grounded and realistic. As we ramp up production towards the game's release, we are looking for an experienced Tech Artist to join us in a senior or principal role and help us deliver a truly one-of-a-kind gameplay experience!
As a Principal/Senior Tech Artist, you will play a pivotal role in our team. You will be responsible for anticipating and addressing risks related to the project’s technical challenges. You will manage multiple technical systems and processes with interdependencies.
You will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of artists, animators, and programmers to align creative and technical perspectives, ensuring the delivery of the best possible solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement efficient technical solutions across assets and processes.
  • Mentor a team of Technical Artists and Technical Animators.
  • Identify and mitigate technical risks within the project’s pipeline.
  • Collaborate with artists, animators, and programmers to streamline workflows.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 7 years of experience as a Technical Artist in a senior role, including at least one commercially shipped AAA title.
  • Experience in Technical Animation (nice to have)
  • Deep knowledge of Unreal Engine 5.
  • Proven experience in overall asset optimization, including profiling tools such as Unreal Insights.
  • Hands-on experience with console optimization (XSS and/or PS5).
  • Basic rendering programming skills.
  • Familiarity with Metahuman (a plus, but not required).
  • Strong proficiency in both written and spoken English.
  • Proactive and solution-oriented mindset.
