The role involves analyzing user problems, designing UI/UX, and building prototypes.
Must Have
- Develop an innovative feature to help users find people in a new way.
- Work with a multidisciplinary Product, Design, Engineering & Analytics team.
- Work on Product Design or in a mobile context (iOS or Android).
- Build a prototype with SwiftUI (iOS) or Kotlin (Android).
- Integrate with Tinder's existing design guidelines and animations.
- Analyze user problems and translate into strategic hypotheses and solutions.
- Design UI & UX for solutions.
- Collaborate with product to write feature specifications.
- Deliver a Proof of Concept (specification or working app-flow).
- Provide research & recommendation on architecture for iOS or Android.
- Document the design (wireframes, mock-ups, API schemas, flowcharts).
- Present findings and demo PoC to the team.

Job Description

Our team in Ghent focuses on these New Experiences: we conceive, test, and build innovative features that enable new forms of discovery on top of the existing Tinder experience. During this internship, you will contribute to an experiment that makes this vision tangible.
The assignment
Develop an innovative feature that helps users to find people in a new way and/or tools that make this possible. For this, you will work together with our multidisciplinary Product, Design, Engineering & Analytics team.
You will work on Product Design of this feature or in a mobile context (iOS or Android). During an intake interview, we will jointly determine the precise scope of the assignment, tailored to your technical background and interests.
Possible focus areas
- iOS / Android engineering:
- Building a prototype with SwiftUI (iOS) or Kotlin (Android).
- Integration with Tinder's existing design guidelines and animations.
- Researching push-notifications, in-app prompts, and micro-interactions.
- Product Design:
- Analysis of user problems and translating them into strategic hypotheses and solutions.
- Designing UI & UX for these solutions.
- Collaborating with product to write a specification for the feature.
Expected deliverables
- Proof of Concept of the feature (specification of the feature or working app-flow).
- Research & recommendation on architecture for iOS or Android.
- Documentation of the design (wireframes, mock-ups, API schemas, flowcharts).
- Final presentation to the team with lessons learned and demo of the PoC.
