About Rippling

Rippling gives businesses one place to run HR, IT, and Finance. It brings together all of the workforce systems that are normally scattered across a company, like payroll, expenses, benefits, and computers. For the first time ever, you can manage and automate every part of the employee lifecycle in a single system.

Take onboarding, for example. With Rippling, you can hire a new employee anywhere in the world and set up their payroll, corporate card, computer, benefits, and even third-party apps like Slack and Microsoft 365—all within 90 seconds.

Based in San Francisco, CA, Rippling has raised $1.85B+ from the world’s top investors—including Kleiner Perkins, Founders Fund, Sequoia, Greenoaks, and Bedrock—and was named one of America's best startup employers by Forbes.

We prioritize candidate safety. Please be aware that all official communication will only be sent from @Rippling.com addresses.

About the role

As the Product Design Lead focused on Integrations, you’ll shape Rippling’s growing ecosystem: how customer data and workflows connect across the tools they rely on. From installing connectors to authorizing access, mapping fields, syncing data in and out of Rippling, and surfacing health and controls, your work will define the first mile to connected value—and directly influence how fast and confidently customers see Rippling “just work.” From Salesforce to Jira, from Snowflake to Greenhouse, Rippling’s Platform can offer a centralized understanding of metrics important to every business and more. Integrations are the beginning of what will be a healthy ecosystem of apps and software built on top of Rippling’s platform.

You’ll lead the design of a unified integrations framework that powers data flows across Rippling. Whether customers are self-serve SMBs or managed enterprise accounts, connecting a single system or an entire suite, your work will help them get connected quickly. You’ll craft platform primitives that let product teams plug seamlessly into a shared Integrations system, while also building customer‑facing experiences that are polished, adaptive, and clear. You’ll partner closely with individual product teams and third‑party partners to simplify setup, remove friction, and deliver a streamlined, cohesive ecosystem.

This is a role for a designer who thrives on complexity and scale. You’ll work closely with product and engineering peers who move quickly, and you'll join a design org that values autonomy, depth, and impact. We ship fast, sweat the details, and treat integrations as a platform challenge, not just a collection of connectors. Success here is measured not just in pixels shipped, but in activation speed, data quality, and the strength of the foundation you lay for Rippling’s ecosystem.

What you will do

  • Design the end‑to‑end integrations experience—from discovering connectors to authorization, configuration, field mapping, testing, sync scheduling, and monitoring—crafting systems that are fast, reliable, and radically simple.
  • Get close to customers, understand how they actually connect and use third‑party tools, spot the points where their workflows break, and turn those insights into strategic design priorities that drive real business impact.
  • Build reusable capabilities and systems that scale across Rippling’s product offerings—connection manager patterns, mapping and transformation components, permission/scope pickers, observability (logs, alerts, retries)—ensuring interaction patterns and visuals stay coherent platform‑wide.
  • Design clear admin controls that let customers manage and edit data safely and choose exactly which features they want to enable per integration (objects, events, sync directions, and frequency).
  • Partner deeply with Product, Engineering, and GTM—including platform, data, and partner teams—to scope, prototype, and ship new functionality, unblocking dependencies and negotiating trade‑offs (including third‑party API constraints) along the way.
  • Deliver high‑fidelity designs and interaction prototypes that make complex concepts crystal‑clear to internal stakeholders and (most importantly) end users.

What you will need

  • 6+ years of end‑to‑end product design experience, with a portfolio of complex, high‑impact products delivered from initial concept through iteration and delivery.
  • Proven ability to think in systems and simplify complexity, with experience designing in challenging domains or compliance‑heavy environments.
  • A strong eye for visual and interaction craft, with the ability to produce clear, detailed specifications and contribute to the development of our design system.
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills, enabling you to articulate design decisions clearly and guide decision making with cross‑functional partners.
  • Relentless customer focus, backed by a habit of digging into real behavior, identifying pain points, and designing solutions that solve meaningful problems.
  • A bias toward action, especially in ambiguous or fast‑moving environments—you have a track record of generating many ideas, iterating quickly, unblocking dependencies, and owning timelines without daily oversight.
  • Hands‑on experience designing admin flows for managing and editing data in integration‑heavy products—including mapping and transformation, conflict resolution, and granular feature/permission controls (e.g., OAuth scopes, RBAC).
  • A general understanding of data flow and governance in a rich app ecosystem—webhooks and event streams, data lineage and auditability, privacy and retention controls, and how to make smart trade‑offs alongside partner and platform constraints.

If you don't necessarily meet all of these requirements, we still encourage you to apply. Skills transfer in unexpected ways, and diverse perspectives often lead to the most innovative solutions.
