Job Description

As a Product Lead, you will spearhead the strategic development to enhance traffic quality and quantity for merchants, driving revenue for idealo. This involves implementing new pricing models and smart listing strategies. You will collaborate with product peers and stakeholders to develop and execute a vision and strategy for idealo’s merchant-facing product, managing a joint product roadmap. Your role encompasses identifying and evaluating opportunities within business, organizational structures, and technical architecture. You will formulate hypotheses, test solutions efficiently, and work closely with engineering teams on billing systems, performance tracking, and merchant management to deliver new and improved features. The position requires a focus on detail and a thorough work ethic to ensure reliable underlying business processes, along with the ability to communicate complex topics, especially to senior leadership.

About the role

  • You lead the strategic development to improve traffic quality and quantity for the merchant and revenue for idealo. Within your responsibility lies the implementation of new pricing models and smart listing.

  • You develop and implement a vision and strategy for idealo’s merchant facing product together with your product peers and stakeholders and maintain a joint product roadmap.

  • You know your customers, merchants and internal stakeholders and identify and evaluate opportunities in the fields of business, organization (structure and processes) and technical architecture.

  • You come up with hypotheses for problems and potential solutions and test them in the most efficient way possible.

  • You work closely together with engineering teams contributing to billing systems, performance tracking and merchant management for the delivery of new or improved features.

Skills & Requirements

  • You have a proven record of success in leading, inspiring and growing products of different maturity.

  • You have strong problem solving and very good analytical skills.

  • You bring a solid technical understanding that helps you to evaluate architectural concepts.

  • You have a specific interest in performance marketing, billing, and pricing strategy in e-commerce, experience is a plus.

  • You pay attention to detail and have a thorough way of working to make sure the underlying and business critical processes are highly reliable.

  • You are convenient with overseeing the big picture and the influence of decisions and modifications to it.

  • Your excellent communication skills in English and German allow you to articulate complex topics clearly – especially to senior leadership (Vice President and Managing Director level).

  • Your ability to collaborate, inspire, and build strong relationships helps you succeed as a lateral leader.

  • You enjoy making strategic decisions based on data and a clear product vision.

  • You are strongly results-oriented and driven by the willingness to achieve significant progress for your business stakeholders and the organization as a whole.

  • You have very good organizational skills and pursue a structured as well as process-oriented approach.
