Job Description

Axel Springer Corporate Solutions is the agency unit of Europe's leading digital media group, combining agency speed and creativity with the security and innovation of a large media company. They help clients with external and internal communication, content marketing, and consulting. This role involves managing the German Architects' Journal (DAB), the most widely read magazine for architects and planning civil engineers. The editor will plan and produce content for print, digital, and social media, develop formats, create briefings, and ensure content quality.
Good To Have:
  • Experience as an editor in the field of architecture and urban planning.
  • Experience with project management software (e.g., Asana, Wordpress, Facelift).
Must Have:
  • Completed relevant studies and qualified journalistic training with extensive editorial know-how (Digital, Social Media, Print).
  • At least 2 years of experience as an editor.
  • High interest and demonstrable expertise in architecture and building culture.
  • Strong implementation skills, good topic ideas, and ability to create content for all channels with great textual confidence.
  • Experience with Content Management Systems, Social Media Tools, SEO.
  • Clear, binding, and strong consulting communication skills.

On behalf of the Federal Chamber of Architects (BAK) and in close cooperation with the State Chambers of Architects (LAK), we will relaunch the renowned magazine brand and integrate it into a diverse communication ecosystem. For this exciting task, we are looking for a technically experienced, creative, and committed Editor / Editorial Manager (m/f/d) for the German Architects' Journal (DAB).

What you will move with us:

  • Together with the editorial team, you plan and produce content for print, digital, and social media.
  • You develop formats and content that achieve the client's goals and target groups and match market needs.
  • You create clear briefings for authors and colleagues, edit, and ensure the high quality and consistency of all content.
  • You work closely with an interdisciplinary team, especially with project management, photo editing, and design.
  • You have a very good sense for relevant and exciting topics. You always keep an eye on trends and current developments in the fields of architecture and urban planning.
  • You are the editorial contact person for the LAKs. You present your suggestions and creative ideas confidently and sympathetically to the client and lead meetings with assurance.

What you bring:

  • You have completed relevant studies, qualified journalistic training, and extensive editorial know-how (Digital, Social Media, Print).
  • You have been working as an editor for at least 2 years, ideally in the field of architecture and urban planning.
  • You have a high interest in architecture and building culture and demonstrable expertise in these areas.
  • You are strong in implementation, have good topic ideas, and skillfully create suitable content for all channels. Above all, your textual confidence is great.
  • You have experience with Content Management Systems, Social Media Tools, SEO, and ideally with project management software (e.g., Asana, Wordpress, Facelift).
  • In your communication, you are clear, binding, and strong in consulting.
