Product Manager

Adyen is looking for a passionate Product Manager to enhance our Japanese payment methods, focusing on QR code-based solutions and digital wallets like PayPay and RakutenPay. You will oversee these payment methods from development to launch, ensuring they are successful, scalable, and meet the changing needs of our merchants.

What you’ll do

  • You’ll focus on building and scaling local payment methods in Japan, one of Adyen’s most strategic markets globally.
  • In this role, you’ll take full ownership of a broad problem set, using your product mindset to define solutions that are driven by impact, value, and long-term scalability.
  • You’ll lead prioritization and planning efforts to shape the local payment methods roadmap in Japan, working cross-functionally with commercial, support, and development teams to ensure alignment and execution.
  • You’ll engage directly with our Japanese and global merchants to deeply understand their needs, identify the right problems to solve, and collaborate across Adyen to bring effective solutions to market.
  • You’ll drive initiatives end-to-end -leading projects, working closely with engineers, and getting hands-on with technical problem-solving when needed.

Who you are

  • You are fluent in both English and Japanese, with professional experience operating in both languages.
  • You bring strong technical and analytical skills to the table, and you're comfortable getting into the details. Collaborating with engineers and technical stakeholders feels natural to you.
  • You have 3+ years of experience in the payments space, with a solid understanding of Japanese local payment methods. You have a perspective on how these methods are evolving particularly in the Japanese market.
  • You’ve spent 5–7 years in Product Management at software companies, where you’ve successfully launched and scaled products that delivered measurable impact.
  • You’re skilled at listening - whether it’s to customers, engineers, or partners and turning their input into clear product priorities. You focus on what matters most to solve real customer problems in a way only Adyen can.
