This Product Manager, Risk role at LSEG focuses on developing and enhancing adverse media monitoring solutions. The position involves driving innovation, aligning capabilities with market needs and regulatory expectations, and collaborating with Technology, Content Operations, Sales, and Proposition teams. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills, with experience in risk intelligence, adverse media screening, or compliance technology, and a passion for delivering customer-centric solutions.
Must have:
  • Define, develop, and enhance adverse media monitoring capabilities.
  • Drive the evolution of risk intelligence and screening solutions.
  • Lead product roadmap initiatives to improve accuracy, efficiency, and relevance of customer screening.
  • Collaborate with Technology teams to enhance automation, machine learning, NLP, and generative AI capabilities.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, regulators, and industry partners.
  • Capture and analyse client feedback, translating insights into improvements.
  • Ensure open, inclusive, and clear communication of product updates, enhancements, and strategic direction.
  • Support commercial teams by developing marketing and educational materials.
  • Conduct training sessions for internal teams on risk awareness, regulatory trends, and adverse media detection standard processes.
  • Act as a customer advocate, ensuring products are accessible, intuitive, and responsive to user needs.
  • Lead projects effectively, ensuring timely delivery while maintaining product quality and integrity.
  • Contribute to business cases for new product investments.
  • Assist in resolving complex customer queries.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in risk intelligence, financial services, regulatory compliance, or media monitoring.
  • Degree or equivalent experience in Finance, Compliance, Business, Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience in client engagement, consulting, marketing, or product management.
  • Ability to understand and interpret global risk trends.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and familiarity with data analytics tools.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a remote or hybrid team environment.
  • Comfortable engaging with collaborators at all levels.
  • Experience in simplifying complex compliance and risk concepts into practical, user-friendly materials.
  • High attention to detail, particularly in content accuracy, data integrity, and risk classification.
Good to have:
  • Knowledge of financial crime compliance, AML regulations, and KYC screening.
  • Familiarity with AI-driven media monitoring, NLP, and automation technologies.
  • Experience working with third-party data providers, content aggregators, or risk intelligence platforms.
  • Proven track record to lead teams without formal authority.
  • Experience in software development lifecycles (Agile, Waterfall, Iterative).

This role focuses on driving innovation, ensuring that our capabilities align with market needs and regulatory expectations. You will work closely with various teams, including Technology, Content Operations, Sales, and Proposition, to improve product offerings and deliver outstanding customer experiences.

This position requires an individual with strong organisational, communication, and analytical skills, capable of balancing vision with hands-on execution. The candidate will have experience in risk intelligence, adverse media screening, or compliance technology, as well as a passion for delivering inclusive, customer-centric solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with Proposition and Sales teams to define, develop, and enhance adverse media monitoring capabilities.
  • Drive the evolution of our risk intelligence and screening solutions, ensuring they meet the needs of an expanding customer base.
  • Lead product roadmap initiatives that improve the accuracy, efficiency, and relevance customer screening.
  • Collaborate with Technology teams to enhance automation, machine learning, and NLP (natural language processing) and generative AI capabilities.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, regulators, and industry partners to anticipate compliance challenges and evolving risk concerns.
  • Capture and analyse client feedback, translating insights into improvements.
  • Ensure open, inclusive, and clear communication of product updates, enhancements, and strategic direction to internal teams and external partners.
  • Support commercial teams by developing marketing and educational materials, including customer guides, value proposition documents, and competitive analysis.
  • Conduct training sessions for internal teams, focusing on risk awareness, regulatory trends, and adverse media detection standard processes.
  • Act as a customer advocate, ensuring our products are accessible, intuitive, and responsive to a diverse range of user needs.
  • Lead projects optimally, ensuring timely delivery while maintaining product quality and integrity.

Essential Experience & Skills

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in risk intelligence, financial services, regulatory compliance, or media monitoring.
  • Degree or equivalent experience in Finance, Compliance, Business, Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience in client engagement, consulting, marketing, or product management.
  • Ability to understand and interpret global risk trends, particularly in adverse media and regulatory compliance.
