At Wizards of the Coast, we connect people around the world through play and imagination. We are looking for a contract creative production professional to join our team working on Duel Masters. This Production Artist role involves building and finalizing large files with pixel-perfect designs optimized for print, ensuring all elements are completed crisply and accurately. It's an upstream role co-developing design files and a downstream reviewer role ensuring creative intent is accurately completed.
Must have:
  • Work closely with Art Directors and Graphic Designers to bring initial concepts to fruition through cleanup, versioning, and print testing.
  • Detail specifications of files for commissioning artwork and setting up print vendors.
  • Refine and modify illustrative artwork for print and digital media through retouching, color correction, adjusting ink density, re-sizing, cropping, and generating clipping paths.
  • Preflight and troubleshoot native files.
  • Coordinate and package card set files to meet project needs, maintaining file organization.
  • Proactively connect with collaborators and teammates around asset approval status.
  • Contribute file management efficiency suggestions and process improvement ideas.
  • 2+ years’ experience in production and/or pre-press design working heavily in Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Demonstrable experience preparing digital files for print using variable specifications.
  • Solid background in typesetting in Japanese, including Ruby text.
  • Experience with file naming conventions and methodologies.
  • Experience applying sophisticated PS actions and InDesign scripts.
Good to have:
  • Proficiency in Japanese.
  • Knowledge around file types and compression.
  • Experience with digital file storage, archive systems, or general digital asset management.

We're looking for a contract creative production professional to join our team working on Duel Masters!

We need a hardworking contract Production Artist with the creative ability to build and finalize large files, coupled with an obsession for making sure all elements are completed crisply and accurately. This is both an upstream role, co-developing design files for other production artists to work from, and a downstream reviewer role where you ensure that the creative intent set forth on your projects is being accurately completed. What You'll Do:

  • Working closely with Art Directors and Graphic Designers to take their initial concepts and bring them to fruition through cleanup, versioning, and print testing.

What You'll Bring:

  • 2+ years’ experience in production and/or pre-press design experience working heavily in Adobe Creative Suite for a brand, agency, or production house.
  • Proficiency in Japanese a plus.
  • Demonstrable experience preparing digital files for print using variable specifications (ink limits, varnish plates, etc.)
  • Solid background in typesetting in Japanese, including Ruby text.
  • Experience with file naming conventions and methodologies, knowledge around file types and compression a plus. Experience with digital file storage, archive systems, or general digital asset management a plus.
  • Experience applying sophisticated PS actions and InDesign scripts.
  • Attention to detail with ability to finesse and adjust creative with minimal direction.
  • Ability to complete work accurately in a time-sensitive environment with focus, reliability, and succinct communication.

Additional Details:

Please note that this is a temporary assignment providing services to Wizards through an external staffing agency. If you are selected for this assignment, you will be employed by Eastridge as a W2 employee and will not be an employee of Wizards.

Employment Type: Contingent Worker

  • Duration: 6 months with possible extension to 12 months
  • Location: Open to remote within United States
  • Compensation Range, Currency USD:
  • Starting Pay Range: $45/hour
  • Pay Range End: $50/hour
