KASA New Mexico is seeking a Production Operations Specialist to join their Technology team in Albuquerque, New Mexico. This role is primarily responsible for preparing and executing the operation of the automated production control system (APC) for live and taped television broadcasts. The specialist will operate control room systems, edit content, direct talent, and maintain system documentation. This is an onsite, full-time position requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience in video production or local news, with a focus on automation and control room operations.
Must have:
  • Prepare and execute operation of automated production control system (APC) for live and taped television broadcasts.
  • Operate control room systems and automation, including technical directing, audio mixing, robotics, and video playback.
  • Edit stories and clips to ensure high-quality, engaging content aligned with production standards.
  • Give direction and timing to talent and other technicians during broadcasts and studio productions.
  • Develop and maintain system documentation for operational and troubleshooting purposes.
  • Perform other control room and studio related duties as assigned.

Job Description

As a Production Operations Specialist, you will be primarily responsible for preparing and executing the operation of the automated production control system (APC) for live and taped television broadcasts. Qualifications

  • Operate control room systems and automation, using templates to streamline technical directing, audio mixing, robotics, live/remote segment cut-ins, video playback, graphics insertion, and switching.
  • Edit stories and clips to ensure high-quality, engaging content that aligns with production standards.
  • Give direction and timing to talent and other technicians during broadcasts and studio productions.
  • Develop and maintain system documentation for operational and troubleshooting purposes.
  • Performs other control room and studio related duties as assigned.
  • Required onsite. This position is required to be performed full time onsite from an NBCUniversal designated work site

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience working in video production or local news, preferably TD/Directing experience with Ross Overdrive Production Automation or a similar system.
  • Experience with production switcher operations, manual and automated video and graphics play out, and audio board operations.

Skills & Experience we are looking for:

  • Must have strong oral/written communication skills, solid interpersonal skills, be able to work in a team, and be able to work accurately under pressure and deadlines.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to remain calm under pressure and think critically.
  • Strong Computer Skills: Minimum 3 years of experience with computer applications working and monitoring multiple screens and software applications simultaneously in a broadcast environment.
  • Video editing skills.
