Job Description

As a Project Owner (PO) at CAE, you will play a pivotal role in managing the engineering backlog for one or more projects within the International Defence and Security Portfolio. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including System and Software Architects, Project Specialists, Engineers, Military Training Experts and Product Owners – to ensure that the technical solutions align with training requirements, budget constraints and customer expectations. This role will require a strong understanding of Agile methodologies, technical acumen, and ability to lead and influence across departments.
Must have:
  • Define the project scope with System Architects and Technical Leads
  • Own and manage a unified project backlog in JIRA
  • Maintain alignment between technical solutions and project scope
  • Develop and manage cross-departmental release plans and roadmaps
Good to have:
  • Bachelor’s Degrees in Computer engineering, software engineering, electrical engineering, hardware engineering, aerospace engineering, computer science or similar degrees.
  • Proven experience as an Agile Product Owner or System Software Developer.

About This Role

The role we are offering you

Our ideal candidate has:

  • Bachelor’s Degrees in Computer engineering, software engineering, electrical engineering, hardware engineering, aerospace engineering, computer science or similar degrees.
  • Proficiency in JIRA and Agile Methodologies
  • Proven experience as an Agile Product Owner or System Software Developer.
  • Risk identification and mitigation expertise

Location:

  • Give the location and state (e.g. Homebush, NSW)

Security requirements

As the Australian Department of Defence is a major client, you must be eligible for SECRET (NV1) level Defence security clearance, and preferably already hold a current SECRET (NV1) clearance.
