Job Summary
CGBOT is seeking a passionate Realtime VFX Artist with proven Unreal Engine skills to join their team in Monterrey, Mexico. The role involves designing and creating impactful, stylized visual effects for a competitive online game, collaborating with other artists and developers, and integrating VFX while maintaining visual style and performance. The artist will also use tools like Maya/Blender, Substance Painter, and Photoshop, adapting to an established production pipeline.
Must Have
- Design and create impactful, stylized visual effects (magic, explosions, impacts, etc.) within Unreal Engine.
- Integrate VFX into the game optimally, maintaining visual style and performance.
- Collaborate with animators, designers, and programmers for aesthetic and technical consistency.
- Iterate on existing effects to improve the gameplay experience.
- Use Maya or Blender, Substance Painter, and Photoshop for support assets.
- Adapt to an established, efficient, and proven pipeline.
- Mastery of Unreal Engine, especially its particle and material system.
- Good artistic eye for stylized/cartoony, non-realistic styles.
- Ability to work autonomously.
- Knowledge of optimization for competitive online video games.
- Ability to adapt to a consolidated production pipeline.
- Familiarity with legacy systems or unconventional pipelines.
Good to Have
- Experience in games with multiplayer or competitive mechanics.
- Familiarity with older but effective gameplay systems.
- Interest in improving technical processes without losing sight of the project's visual style.
- Good level of technical English.

We are looking for a VFX Artist with proven skills in Unreal Engine to join our team at CGBOT.
CGBOT is a 3D art company with extensive professional experience and in-house production for video games. Based in Austin, TX, with a production studio in Monterrey, Mexico.
This vacancy is for on-site work at our studio offices in Monterrey, Nuevo León (you can apply from any state in the republic).

- Design and create impactful and stylized visual effects (magic, explosions, impacts, etc.) within Unreal Engine.
- Integrate VFX into the game optimally, maintaining visual style and performance.

- Adapt to an established pipeline, with techniques that may not be the most recent, but are efficient and proven.
