We are seeking an experienced RF Manager to lead a Radio Frequency (RF) team, overseeing the design, testing, and optimization of RF systems for cutting-edge technologies. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in RF engineering, leadership experience, and a passion for innovation, contributing to sophisticated and highly reliable communication products.
Must have:
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of RF engineers and technicians.
  • Oversee the design, simulation, and development of RF systems, components, and solutions.
  • Conduct performance testing and analysis of RF systems, optimizing for signal quality, power efficiency, and reliability.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate RF solutions into broader product architectures.
  • Provide expert advice and support on RF circuit designs.
  • Develop and manage RF testing strategies, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Stay current with emerging trends in RF technologies and recommend strategic initiatives.
  • Ensure thorough and accurate documentation and reporting of RF designs, test results, and performance metrics.
  • Drive the resolution of complex RF-related issues and identify opportunities for innovation.
  • Collaborate with vendors and external partners to source materials, tools, and components.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience managing RF circuit design teams.
  • Greater than 5 years designing RF circuits (e.g., RF power amplifier, VCO, PLL, Transceiver, Receiver).
  • Expertise in RF design, testing, and optimization, including simulation tools like ADS, CST, Ansys HFSS.
  • Strong knowledge of RF standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Proven experience with RF circuit design.
  • Ability to analyze complex RF issues and provide practical solutions.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent collaborative, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely.
Good to have:
  • Familiarity with wireless communication systems (5G, LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth) and related technologies

The RF Manager will play a key role in managing a team of engineers, collaborating across departments, and driving the development of RF solutions for both current and future projects. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in RF engineering, leadership experience, and a passion for innovation.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of RF engineers and technicians to ensure efficient project execution and professional growth.
  • Oversee the design, simulation, and development of RF systems, components, and solutions for a variety of projects.
  • Conduct performance testing and analysis of RF systems, optimizing for signal quality, power efficiency, and reliability.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams including hardware, software, and systems engineering to integrate RF solutions into broader product architectures.
  • Provide expert advice and support on RF circuit designs.
  • Develop and manage RF testing strategies, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Stay current with emerging trends in RF technologies and recommend strategic initiatives for continuous improvement.
  • Ensure the documentation and reporting of RF designs, test results, and performance metrics are thorough and accurate.
  • Drive the resolution of complex RF-related issues and identify opportunities for innovation and process optimization.
  • Collaborate with vendors and external partners to source materials, tools, and components necessary for RF development.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in managing RF circuit design teams and greater than 5 years designing RF circuits, i.e. RF power amplifier design, Voltage Controlled Oscillator (VCO), Phase Locked Loop (PLL), Transceiver or Receiver designs.
  • He/she should enjoy leading a team of engineers enthusiastically with excellent collaborative skills, written and oral communication skills.
  • During the development phase of a project, the candidate will need to work closely with other engineering teams, suppliers and the factory.
  • The candidate will be called upon to lead the design of new products, maintain existing existing products and work with the factory to resolve issues.
  • Expertise in RF design, testing, and optimization, including experience with simulation tools like ADS, CST, Ansys HFSS, or similar.
  • Strong knowledge of RF standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Proven experience with RF circuit design.
  • Ability to analyze complex RF issues and provide practical solutions.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with a focus on mentoring and developing engineering talent.
  • Familiarity with wireless communication systems (5G, LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth) and related technologies is a plus.
  • Certification in RF or related fields is a plus.

Target Base Salary Range: $98,100 - $196,000 USD

Consistent with Motorola Solutions values and applicable law, we provide the following information to promote pay transparency and equity. Pay within this range varies and depends on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The actual offer will be based on the individual candidate.

Basic Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Masters in Electrical Engineering, Physics or related discipline.
  • 5+ years of RF Circuit design experience
  • 3+ years of experience managing RF circuit design teams
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required. Employer work permit sponsorship is not available for this position.
