Job Description

The Sales Specialist will be responsible for new business development with clients and prospects, and deepening existing relationships while delivering on FTSE Russell and LSEG’s strategic objectives. Based in either Hong Kong or Singapore, covering Asia ex Japan, the individual will manage FTSE Russell’s Asset Owner and Consultant relationships. The role involves all facets of the sales cycle from market analysis and prospecting to account management and senior-level relationship building. Key responsibilities include building relationships with partners, identifying client requirements, developing sales strategies, demonstrating product knowledge, collaborating with regional teams, and reporting sales activities. The role requires in-depth knowledge of financial markets and indexes, including equity, fixed income, ESG, and custom indexes.

Key Functions and Responsibilities

As a member of the APAC Sales Team, the successful candidate will be responsible for new business development with both clients and prospects and deepening existing relationships whilst delivering on FTSE Russell and LSEG’s strategic objectives. Based in either Hong Kong or Singapore, with coverage across Asia ex Japan, the individual will be responsible for FTSE Russell’s Asset Owner and Consultant relationships, including Pension Funds, Sovereign Wealth Funds, Consultants, and single Family Offices. We are seeking an experienced sales specialist who is familiar with the design and attributes of index solutions used by asset owners in various jurisdictions across the region.

 

You will engage in all facets of the sales cycle—from market analysis and prospecting to account management and senior-level relationship building. This is a high-impact role with visibility across the organisation, offering the opportunity to shape the future of our Index product strategy. You’ll collaborate closely with colleagues across FTSE Russell’s Global Index Sales, Product, Research, and Marketing teams to deliver tailored, client-centric solutions.

Key responsibilities:

 

Business Development:

  • Build senior relationships with key partners within the Asset Owner and Consultant ecosystem.
  • Identify client requirements and position FTSE Russell as a strategic partner to achieve investment goals.
  • Develop and implement sales strategies to meet or exceed revenue targets.
     

Product Expertise:

  • Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of our products, including equity, fixed income, ESG, and custom indexes.
  • Developing client centric solutions to maximise penetration of products across a variety of asset classes and customer segments.

 

Teamwork:

  • Collaborate with regional teams to share insights, align strategies, and support cross-regional opportunities.

 

Reporting and Analysis:

  • Establish customer feedback loop, assuring a two-way dialogue for new product generation and thought leadership.
  • Track and report sales activities, pipeline progress, and client feedback using CRM tools.

 

Qualifications/Experience

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience in a relevant subject.
  • Knowledge of the Asset Owner space across Asia ex Japan, existing relationships preferable.
  • Significant experience of Indexes and product solutions.
  • Understanding of the investment management process and trends in the investment industry.
  • Superior communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
  • Motivated and able to thrive in a targeted sales environment
