Job Description

HP is seeking a Scenario Planning Lead for the Personal Systems Supply Planning Analytics team to enable agile, data-driven decisions across the global supply chain. This role involves designing and executing scenario models to balance cost, inventory, service, and time, supporting factory networks by identifying over/underutilization risks, improving resource efficiency, and delivering actionable insights to the global supply planning team. Key responsibilities include scenario modeling, factory utilization analysis, time-sensitive planning, inventory & ROI analysis, and decision support.
Good To Have:
  • Experience in the high-tech or PC industry with complex component supply chains (e.g., CPU, memory).
  • Familiarity with inventory KPIs (DIO, aging, excess/obsolescence) and cost-based planning models.
  • Working knowledge of planning systems (SAP IBP, Kinaxis, Anaplan).
  • Knowledge of Monte Carlo simulation techniques for uncertainty and risk modeling.
  • Certifications such as APICS/CPIM, Six Sigma, or PMP are a plus.
Must Have:
  • Lead development of what-if simulations to assess the impact of component shortages, demand shifts, strategic buys, and supplier transitions.
  • Quantify trade-offs across cost, inventory, service, and timing to guide both tactical and strategic supply decisions.
  • Build scenarios to monitor and address factory over- or under-utilization across HP’s global manufacturing footprint.
  • Enable optimal use of constrained resources—including capacity, labor, and materials—by aligning supply timing with demand needs.
  • Incorporate lead times, consumption velocity (FIFO), and qualification timelines into simulation frameworks.
  • Model impacts of delays, early buys, or forecast shifts on inventory health and service delivery.
  • Conduct ROI modeling for strategic buys using cost of capital, obsolescence risk, and service alignment.
  • Provide key insights into Assurance of Supply (AOS) planning and financial risk assessments.
  • Deliver critical analytics and insights to the supply planning team to support operational execution and executive reviews.
  • Build intuitive tools and dashboards using Power BI (DAX) and Excel (Power Query) for scalable scenario delivery.
  • Work closely with Category, Procurement, Finance, and Planning teams to align on scenario assumptions and decision pathways.
  • Present findings in a compelling and actionable format during S&OP and key leadership discussions.
  • Contribute to harmonizing scenario planning processes across HP Personal Systems, Print, and S&G.
  • Continuously improve simulation speed, accuracy, and integration into standard planning workflows.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, or Analytics.
  • 7+ years of experience in supply planning, scenario modeling, or operations analytics.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain trade-offs across cost, inventory, service, and time.
  • Proven experience supporting factory utilization analysis, resource efficiency, and planning operations.
  • Advanced proficiency in Power BI (DAX) and Excel (Power Query).
  • Excellent problem-solving, business storytelling, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Perks:
  • Lead high-impact scenario planning within the Supply Planning Analytics organization.
  • Influence global supply decisions that improve agility, factory efficiency, and customer service.
  • Collaborate with global teams to deliver actionable insights that guide both operational execution and strategic.
  • You want to reshape the way the world works.
  • You’re looking for more than just a job; you’re looking to make a difference.
  • A career at HP can help you build the tomorrow you want.
  • Let’s grow together.
