Sr DevOps Engineer

Join Illumina as a Sr. DevOps Engineer to drive AI/ML breakthroughs in genomics. This role involves automating resilient cloud and on-prem platforms using Python/Go, Ansible, Kubernetes/Rancher, and Docker. Must Have

• Automate and implement highly available and resilient platforms on-premise and in Cloud.
• Implement and maintain workflows and procedures for consistency and auditability.
• Automate away the need for manual installation and direct intervention.
• Write and peer review automation code.
• Provide third level support and administration for Enterprise Informatics global estates.
• Troubleshoot and create tools to resolve incidents.
• Proactively design and optimize network and storage data flows, including monitoring.
• Work within and enforce security and regulatory compliance procedures.
• Document and communicate procedures, configurations and standards effectively.
• Programming skills in Python, Go, Ruby, and various scripting.
• Expertise in administration, configuration, optimization, and monitoring of Linux at scale (CentOS, Amazon Linux).
• Experience with AWS cloud-based deployment and support.
• Familiarity with automation tools such as Ansible, Rancher, Kubernetes, Docker, Helm.
• Ability to pick up new technologies quickly and rapidly deep-dive.
• Use of large-scale data processing tools such as Elastic Search, Grafana.
• Knowledge of troubleshooting network services.
• Minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 3 years with a Master’s degree.

Responsibilities

Requirements

The estimated base salary range for the role based in the United States of America is: $118,200 - $177,200. Should the level or location of the role change during the hiring process, the applicable base pay range may be updated accordingly. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications, location where the role is to be performed, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Additionally, all employees are eligible for one of our variable cash programs (bonus or commission) and eligible roles may receive equity as part of the compensation package.
