Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Scrum Master to join our team in India and play a vital role in our Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) transformation. As a servant-leader, you will be responsible for guiding, coaching, and motivating our Agile development teams to reach their full potential.
Your primary goal is to ensure the teams live by Agile values and principles and follow the processes and practices they agree to use. This role is critical for fostering a culture of continuous improvement and ensuring our distributed teams collaborate effectively to deliver high-quality software. You will be a key player in removing impediments and empowering your teams to succeed. 🚀
What You'll Do: Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate Agile Ceremonies: Lead all SAFe and Scrum events, including Program Increment (PI) Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Iteration Planning, Iteration Reviews, and Retrospectives, ensuring they are productive and stay within their timebox.
- Coach and Mentor: Act as an Agile coach for the team, providing guidance on SAFe, Scrum, and Lean principles. Help the team embrace a mindset of relentless improvement.
- Remove Impediments: Proactively identify and remove blockers or obstacles that are preventing the team from achieving its goals. Shield the team from external distractions.
- Support the Product Owner: Assist the Product Owner with backlog management, ensuring that goals, scope, and product domain are understood by everyone on the team.
- Foster a Collaborative Culture: Build a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, and there is an emphasis on collaboration and problem-solving.
- Track and Radiate Information: Utilize tools like Jira to track team progress, manage metrics (like velocity and cycle time), and communicate this information to stakeholders to ensure transparency.
- Drive SAFe Adoption: Guide the team in its role within the Agile Release Train (ART) and ensure its alignment with the overall program objectives.
What You'll Bring: Required Qualifications
- Experience: 2-5+ years of experience in a Scrum Master role for a software development team.
- SAFe Experience: At least 1-2 years of hands-on experience working in a SAFe environment.
- Certification: Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM), or SAFe Scrum Master (SSM) certification is required.
- Agile Tools: Proficiency with Agile project management tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or a similar platform.
- Excellent Skills: Strong communication, facilitation, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.
- Servant Leadership: A deep understanding of the servant-leader role and a passion for empowering teams.
Nice-to-Haves: Preferred Qualifications
- Experience participating in a large-scale Agile transformation.
- Advanced SAFe certification (e.g., SAFe Advanced Scrum Master - SASM).
- Knowledge of other Agile approaches like Kanban and XP.
- Previous experience as a software developer, QA engineer, or business analyst.
