The Opportunity

We are seeking a Scrum Master to lead and coach our talented development and product teams in the transition from a Waterfall to Agile methodology. This is a pivotal new role where you will introduce, guide, and embed Agile best practices across our software development lifecycle. You’ll be instrumental in shifting our mindset from a waterfall-based model to an Agile, sprint-driven approach.

You will work closely with a close-knit, highly tenured dev team, a dedicated product team, and leadership. Your role will focus on cultivating Agile habits, refining workflows, and establishing transparency, predictability, and performance through structured ceremonies and metrics.

The ideal candidate is a skilled facilitator and Agile coach who can gain the trust of a tenured development team and foster a culture of continuous improvement, ownership, and accountability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Champion the adoption of Agile frameworks and best practices across the development and product teams.
  • Facilitate core Agile ceremonies: sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog grooming, retrospectives, and sprint reviews.
  • Guide teams in breaking down complex projects into iterative deliverables and improving sprint estimation accuracy.
  • Work closely with Product Owners to manage backlogs and refine user stories for clarity, value, and priority.
  • Drive Agile maturity within the organization by coaching teams on Agile mindset, practices, and metrics.
  • Improve delivery processes by implementing tools and techniques that support transparency, velocity tracking, and team accountability.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to establish Agile KPIs and dashboards to track progress, team health, and outcomes.
  • Lead efforts to evaluate and enhance current release processes, with the goal of increasing frequency, quality, and customer impact.
  • Support change management efforts, addressing skepticism and fostering buy-in from long-standing team members.
  • Serve as an Agile subject matter expert and internal consultant for continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Scrum Master within software development teams.
  • Demonstrated success leading Agile transformations, ideally from a Waterfall environment.
  • A collaborative, low-ego mindset: confident without arrogance, assertive without being directive.
  • Strong understanding of Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban) and delivery metrics (velocity, burndown, throughput).
  • Exceptional facilitation, interpersonal, and coaching skills; able to earn the trust of cross-functional teams.
  • Hands-on experience with Agile project management tools; familiarity with Zoho Projects/Sprints is preferred, but experience with tools like Jira or Confluence is transferable.
  • Ability to align Agile practices with business outcomes and help teams focus on value delivery.
  • Experience working with geographically distributed or hybrid teams.
  • Comfortable navigating organizational change, especially in environments new to Agile methodologies.
  • High emotional intelligence and a collaborative, low-ego approach to leadership.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Agile KPI dashboards and reporting, ideally using SQL or Zoho analytics tools.
  • Background in print, SaaS, or product-based technology environments.
  • Exposure to Agile KPI development and team performance scorecard creation.
  • Experience in DevOps environments or exposure to CI/CD pipelines.
