Hiring Full-Time and Part-Time employees; Flexible hours
Operations will run Sunday-Saturday 6am-10pm
Position is seasonal and will begin mid-December
THE DAY TO DAY…
- Safe operation of multiple styles of mowing/snow blowing machines and tools. Ensure team is wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (hearing protection, eye protection and safety shoes and gloves (as necessary))
- Communicate safety concerns and near misses immediately, drive corrective actions and provide safety training to operators
- Live and promote the Ariens Core Values and 15 Principles
- Complete required paperwork (daily safety checklists, test incident reports, daily machine inspections and others as required by Project Teams)
- Verifies Team is following proper operating techniques that do not cause machine damage and/or excessive unit wear (follow test plan/duty cycle).
- Perform daily machine inspections per defined inspection plan
- Drive 6S activities, continuous improvement: cleaning/maintaining facilities, maintain accurate inventory levels of supplies.
- Assist in writing test procedures to drive continuous improvement and test efficiency and effectiveness
- Ensure operators are communicating all testing issues, concerns, questions, operator feedback and ideas for product improvement
- Ability to clearly communicate and document issues observed during test
- Willingness to provide ideas for product improvement
- Provide continuous improvement feedback on how to improve process efficiencies
- Maintain daily time tracker of hours and observations per machine
- Training of new employees on operational standards defined in the test request
- Supports root cause problem solving efforts
- Ability to effectively communicate to field test team, leaders and test partners
- Other duties as assigned
THE QUALIFICATIONS…
- Working knowledge of outdoor power equipment operation and use
- Capable of performing basic troubleshooting and adhering to standard work
- Able to participate in and lead Continuous Improvement projects
- Working knowledge of office computer programs and applications
- Basic understanding of Lean and 6S
- Past leadership experience preferred
- Minimum High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
THE WORK ENVIRONMENT…
- Required to walk, sit, and/or stand for 8+ hours a day
- Work environment is outdoors and may include safely operating in inclement weather
- Must be able to use hands to operate test machines in their normal environment
- Able to lift up to 35 pounds at varying frequencies. Work with team lift for heavier items
- Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment (hearing protection, eye protection and safety shoes)
