Senior 2D FX Artist

We are now on the hunt for an experienced Senior 2D FX Artist who will join us in our quest to create the best possible animated content for our partners.

The start date for this role is 10th of June 2024.

This role is based in our studio in Kilkenny. - NO FREELANCE OPTION

The role is for a 2D animated feature film directed by John Schafer and Tom Bancroft, with a hybrid mix of traditional and rigged animation.

Your role will involve creating visually stunning effects that enrich storytelling and captivate audiences. What you'll be doing

• Perform artistic tasks and use creative and technical problem solving to create desired effects.
• Organize and manage your work and files efficiently while working with the department’s naming conventions.
• Produce FX on shots, help building assets (where applicable), and design FX when needed.
• Ensure work is completed on schedule and to production standards. 
• Review workload and communicate any issues to the FX lead.
• Assist with other production tasks which require communication across departments.
• Identify and communicate any issues that may occur during the production.
  

The above is not exhaustive and from time to time you may be asked to carry out other tasks.

What we're looking for

• no less than 2+ years’ experience working in a production environment in Traditional Animation, Toon Boom Harmony
• Demonstrated experience, comprehension and knowledge of classical animation, and effects animation 
• Solid drawing skills
• Drive and readiness to learn to use technical solutions to help streamline the process
• Drive, determination and creative problem-solving skills 
• Effective and professional communication skills 
• Must be a team player
• Must be willing to relocate to Kilkenny
