Senior Community Manager, Secret Door

Secret Door and Dreamhaven are looking for an experienced Community Manager to join us as we prepare to launch our first game together. This role will report to the Dreamhaven Director of Player Communications, but sit directly with the Secret Door game team.

To succeed, you’ll need to love engaging with players, cultivating diverse communities, building meaningful relationships with creators, and managing a variety of content streams and social channels. You should be ready to jump into a startup environment, roll up your sleeves and help build from the foundations.

You’re a gifted communicator, strategist and creative thinker with experience embedding in game communities at various stages and scales. You’ve demonstrated experience building and managing gaming communities, and supporting games from development through launch. You’re excited to develop foundational communication strategies and help guide the growth of our channels and communities, alongside the cross-functional development and publishing teams. You understand the creator ecosystem and how great content partners drive deep connections, not just clicks and views. If this sounds like you, we’d love to tell you more about the position!

What you'll do:

• Establish and maintain a strong, positive rapport with the gaming community through various channels, including social media, forums, and in-game communications.
• Act as the voice of the community within the studio, providing valuable insights and feedback to the development team.
• Identify, engage, and build relationships with key influencers and content creators in the gaming space.
• Collaborate with influencers to create engaging content that highlights the unique features and experiences of our game.
• Develop and execute community engagement strategies to enhance player satisfaction and retention.
• Organize and host events, contests, and other community-driven initiatives to strengthen the sense of community.
• Ability to advocate for and address player concerns and feedback in a timely and empathetic manner.
• Collaborate with internal teams to resolve issues and communicate resolutions effectively to the community.
• Contribute to the creation of engaging and shareable content, including blog posts, videos, and social media updates, to keep the community informed and excited about the game.
• Utilize analytics tools to track community engagement metrics and provide regular reports back to the team, using those insights to iterate and improve.

What we need:

• Substantial experience in community management within the video game industry.
• In depth knowledge and love for RPG video games and the communities that surround them. A love for pen and paper role playing games and communities is a plus.
• Proven track record of successfully managing and growing gaming communities.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Empathetic and approachable demeanor.
• Experience working with influencers and content creators.
• Passion for gaming and a deep understanding of player motivations.

The base salary range for this position is $83,799 to $139,665 USD per year, which is associated with our Level 3 salary band. The range listed for this position is just one component of Dreamhaven’s total compensation package for team members and exact compensation may vary based on skills and experience. Total compensation also includes equity, comprehensive benefits and will also include profit sharing in the future.
