Job Description

Rippling is seeking a Senior Customer Engineer to bridge the gap between its technology solutions and customer needs. This role involves working directly with customers to understand their challenges, design and implement custom solutions, and ensure successful integration with existing systems. The engineer will conduct discovery, own critical projects, provide technical expertise, identify new use cases, and collaborate with internal teams. This position requires a technical background and a customer-focused approach to solve real-world problems and drive customer success.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • 4+ years in software development with Python, Javascript, Ruby, Java, Go, C, or C++.
  • Strong SQL and data modeling skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Customer-centric mindset and experience in customer-facing roles.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%.

About the role


In this first-of-its-kind role at Rippling, you will play a critical part in bridging the gap between our cutting-edge technology solutions and customer needs. You will work directly with customers to understand their challenges, design and implement custom solutions, and ensure successful deployment and integration of their existing systems with Rippling. This role is ideal for a technically skilled and customer-focused professional who is excited about solving real-world problems and making a significant impact on customer success.



What you will do

  • Conduct discovery and work closely with key decision-makers and end users to understand customer pain points and business processes and identify areas where Rippling can provide value. 
  • Own end-to-end execution of critical projects for customers, including building custom data connectors, custom applications, workflows and analytics using Rippling’s products and Python, Javascript, Ruby, Java, Go, C or C++.
  • Provide technical expertise and support throughout the project lifecycle, from initial scoping to post-deployment troubleshooting and optimization.
  • Identify and develop new use cases for Rippling applications
  • Collaborate cross-functionally across account teams, product management and engineering teams to ensure alignment of customer needs with our product roadmap and capabilities.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Proven experience (4+ years) in software development, with a strong understanding of Python, Javascript, Ruby, Java, Go, C or C++, as well as SQL and data modeling.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain customer relationships.
  • Customer-centric mindset. Experience working directly with customers or in a customer-facing role is preferred.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites as needed (up to 25% travel).
