As a Senior Data Analyst for Yahoo.com, you will be the primary analytics partner for the Home and News verticals. In this highly visible role, you will lead the discovery of insights that inform business strategy, drive impact, and influence leadership decisions at the highest level. You will operate with significant autonomy, proactively identifying opportunities, anticipating stakeholder needs, and creating data-driven narratives that guide strategy. This role requires critical thinking, navigating ambiguity, and independently managing complex analytical projects from inception to execution.
Must have:
  • Analyze and segment audiences to uncover behavioral patterns and identify opportunities that inform product and content strategies.
  • Evaluate retention drivers and cross-property engagement to understand how users interact across Yahoo’s ecosystem.
  • Monitor and interpret revenue trends to assess business performance, identify growth levers, and flag potential risks early.
  • Design, build, and maintain executive-ready dashboards that distill complex data into intuitive, actionable views for senior leadership.
  • Develop automated reporting systems and alerts (via Slack or email) to surface significant shifts in key performance metrics in real time.
  • Translate insights into clear strategic recommendations, ensuring leadership can act quickly and confidently.
  • Collaborate closely with executives and cross-functional partners to define critical business questions, frame analyses, and guide data-driven decision making.
  • 5+ years of experience as a business analyst, data analyst, or in a similar role.
  • Strong SQL experience, with the ability to write complex queries and optimize performance across large datasets.
  • Skills in Python for automation and advanced analytics.
  • Strong experience creating business intelligence reports and dashboards using tools such as Looker or Tableau.
  • Expert in data storytelling, with the ability to translate complex analyses into clear, persuasive narratives.
  • Strategic thinker with strong business acumen and a bias toward action.
  • Excellent communication skills, confident presenting insights to senior leadership.

What You’ll Do:

What we’re Looking For:

The compensation for this position ranges from $122,250.00 - $255,000.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience.The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions.
