Job Description

This Senior Data Scientist role at Google focuses on Real World Journeys and Search, supporting a global user base. Responsibilities include framing and solving ambiguous business problems, collaborating cross-functionally with Engineering, Product, and UX teams, applying problem-solving and causal inference, performing data exploration to drive strategy, and providing data-driven recommendations. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills to influence leadership and convey technical concepts clearly. The role involves using analytics to solve product or business problems, performing statistical analysis, and coding in languages like Python, R, and SQL.

Must have:

Master's degree in quantitative field
5+ years experience in data analytics
Proficiency in Python, R, SQL
Excellent problem-solving skills
Strong communication skills

Good to have:

8+ years experience
Experience with causal inference
Experience with A/B testing

Minimum qualifications:

Master's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Engineering, Physics, Economics, a related quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.
5 years of work experience using analytics to solve product or business problems, performing statistical analysis, and coding (e.g., Python, R, SQL).

Preferred qualifications:

Master's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Engineering, Physics, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
8 years of work experience using analytics to solve product or business problems, performing statistical analysis, and coding (e.g., Python, R, SQL).
Excellent coding skills, and ability to understand and update analysis code.
Excellent problem framing, problem-solving and team collaboration skills.
Excellent communication skills, especially in communicating technical and statistical concepts clearly and concisely among audiences at many different levels.

Responsibilities

Apply problem-solving, experimentation, and causal inference to address business challenges.
Perform data exploration to uncover insights and drive strategy. Provide data recommendations to guide opportunities and prioritization.
