Software Engineer, Computational Photography, Video and Generative AI

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages.
• 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.
• Experience with Machine Learning.
• Experience in Research Science.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
• 5 years of experience with data structures/algorithms.
• 1 year of experience in a technical leadership role.
• Experience in Computer Vision/Graphics.
• Experience with interactive camera applications, optimizations.

For this role, you will need to have experience in deep learning, modeling and other areas related but not limited to image and video synthesis and analysis. You will develop technologies from diffusion models and transformers to Gemini prompting and integration, that revolutionize the editing, and creation of visual media, with the potential to unlock many new experiences for users. You will develop and apply innovative research in vision/graphics/Machine Learning (ML) to a number of applications.

The Platforms and Devices team encompasses various computing software platforms across environments (desktop, mobile, applications), as well as our first party devices and services that combine the best of AI, software, and hardware. Teams across this area research, design, and develop new technologies to make our user's interaction with computing faster and more seamless, building innovative experiences for our users around the world.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $166,000-$244,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

• Perform research, develop and apply innovative research in goal/graphics/ML to a number of applications.
• Work with several product teams, including the Camera App team, Photos, and collaborate extensively with other research teams.
• Help make pictures/videos with very high quality that are also engaging, fun, or magical.
