Job Description

The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in soil mechanics, foundation engineering, and geotechnical design, combined with practical field experience and strong project management capabilities. This role involves leading and managing geotechnical engineering deliverables within the PMC framework, overseeing design consultants and contractors, and providing expert input on investigations, analysis, and design for various infrastructure elements. The Senior Geotechnical Engineer will ensure adherence to international and local codes, participate in value engineering, and support field teams in site supervision and monitoring.
Must have:
  • Lead and manage geotechnical engineering deliverables within the PMC framework
  • Provide expert input on geotechnical investigations, analysis, and design
  • Review and approve geotechnical reports, method statements, risk assessments, and technical submittals
  • Coordinate with design, infrastructure, utilities, and construction management teams
  • Evaluate ground conditions and provide recommendations on foundation systems, retaining structures, earthworks, ground improvement, dewatering, and slope stabilization
  • Ensure adherence to international and local codes
  • Participate in value engineering, constructability reviews, and risk workshops
  • Support field teams in supervising site investigations, QA/QC of groundworks, and geotechnical instrumentation monitoring
  • Contribute to technical governance, assurance, and lessons learned
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil or Geotechnical Engineering
  • 10+ years of relevant experience, with at least 5 years in a senior role
  • Proven expertise in complex geotechnical works including deep foundations, shoring systems, soil-structure interaction
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and technical interfaces
Good to have:
  • Master’s degree in civil or Geotechnical Engineering
  • Previous PMC, client-representative, or multidisciplinary consultancy experience
  • Familiarity with local geotechnical conditions in Riyadh or similar arid, collapsible soil environments

Job Description

The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in soil mechanics, foundation engineering, and geotechnical design, combined with practical field experience and strong project management capabilities.

  • Lead and manage geotechnical engineering deliverables within the PMC framework, overseeing multiple design consultants and contractors.
  • Provide expert input on geotechnical investigations, analysis, and design for diverse elements such as high-rise buildings, basements, transportation infrastructure, and public realm works.
  • Review and approve geotechnical reports, method statements, risk assessments, and technical submittals.
  • Coordinate with design, infrastructure, utilities, and construction management teams to resolve geotechnical issues across project phases.
  • Evaluate ground conditions and provide recommendations on foundation systems, retaining structures, earthworks, ground improvement, dewatering, and slope stabilization.
  • Ensure adherence to international and local codes.
  • Participate in value engineering, constructability reviews, and risk workshops.
  • Support field teams in supervising site investigations, QA/QC of groundworks, and geotechnical instrumentation monitoring.
  • Contribute to technical governance, assurance, and lessons learned across the project lifecycle

Qualifications

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil or Geotechnical Engineering (required); Master’s degree (preferred).
  • 10+ years of relevant experience, with at least 5 years in a senior role on major urban development or infrastructure projects.
  • Previous PMC, client-representative, or multidisciplinary consultancy experience is highly desirable.
  • Proven expertise in complex geotechnical works including deep foundations, shoring systems, soil-structure interaction, and challenging subsurface conditions.
  • Familiarity with local geotechnical conditions in Riyadh or similar arid, collapsible soil environments is an advantage.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and technical interfaces.
