The Role
As Senior QA Engineer at Silicon Labs, you will play a key role in ensuring the quality of software used in our Wi-Fi/BT/BLE/15.4 combo chips. These chips power cutting-edge applications in IoT, wearables, and industrial automation. Based in our Hyderabad Software Centre of Excellence, you’ll lead SQA efforts, drive automation, and collaborate with global teams to deliver high-quality embedded software solutions.
Meet the Team
You’ll be part of Silicon Labs’ Multi-Protocol SQA Team, a tight-knit group of software professionals passionate about innovation, quality, and continuous improvement. The team works across geographies to support the development and testing of the SiSDK product suite, which includes wireless protocols and microcontroller software for IoT applications. We value collaboration, technical excellence, and a commitment to delivering reliable products to our customers.
Responsibilities :
SQA Ownership & Automation
- Lead SQA activities for Silicon Labs’ IoT product offerings, ensuring high-quality deliverables.
- Drive automation of new features and address legacy backlog items.
- Present project progress and technical insights to local and global leadership.
- Collaborate with software development teams, program managers, and application engineers across geographies.
Testing & Protocol Expertise
- Apply commercialization experience in SQA for embedded software and firmware across wireless protocols (Wi-Fi/BT/BLE/15.4).
- Test coexistence between multiple protocols and support post-incident analysis.
- Work closely with Pen Testers and prioritize assessments based on protocol exposure.
Tools & Technologies
- Utilize Python for automation and embedded systems testing.
- Work with tools like Jira, Confluence, Jenkins, Docker, SQL, Git.
- Operate across platforms including Windows and Linux; use scripting languages such as Shell and Bash.
Team Collaboration & Reporting
- Demonstrate a proactive, can-do attitude and contribute to a positive team environment.
- Maintain and update SQA documentation and test reports.
- Track KPIs and SLOs; report metrics to leadership quarterly.
- Engage with cross-functional stakeholders with empathy, clarity, and technical insight.
Requirements :
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science (or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 9+ years of experience in wireless technologies (Wi-Fi/BT/BLE/15.4).
- 3+ years of experience testing protocol coexistence.
- Strong sense of responsibility and ability to work independently.
- Excellent communication skills and experience working with cross-GEO teams.
- Proficiency in Python and embedded C applications.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
- Background in embedded software testing or development.
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Programming skills in C++, Java, and scripting languages (Perl, Python, Tcl).
- Knowledge of data communications and networking.
