Must have:
  • 6+ years of experience in world-building and environment creation.
  • Strong foundational art skills including composition and light.
  • Experience with modular workflows for architectural assembly.
  • Advanced knowledge of PBR material workflows and shaders.
  • Advanced skill in software like 3ds Max, Maya, Blender, Photoshop
Good to have:
  • Photogrammetry experience a plus.
  • First Person Shooter experience a plus.

Your Mission

Infinity Ward is currently seeking a Senior Environment Artist in Mexico City. 

Priorities can often change in a fast-paced environment like ours, so this role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:   

  • Craft believable, high-quality, photorealistic 3D environments that balance the creative vision of the Art Direction with functional requirements from Design
  • Work closely with Design, Lighting, and other Art teams to ensure environments support both gameplay mechanics and visual storytelling.
  • Set a benchmark for quality through consistently high-standard asset creation and world-building techniques.
  • Demonstrate a high level of autonomy and artistic judgement; feedback is typically based on direction alignment rather than quality issues.
  • During pre-production phase, work with production and team leads in planning and prioritizing tasks; help define scope to achieve the best possible visual and gameplay outcomes.
  • Ownership - High level of creativity and independence; requires little oversight
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve content-related issues, including performance bottlenecks and visual inconsistencies.
  • Can provide guidance and feedback to junior and mid-level artists to help support the team and project goals.
  • Create documentation of processes for others to follow as needed

Player Profile

Minimum Requirements:

  • 6+ years of experience in world-building and environment creation using industry-standard level editors such as Unreal Engine 4 (UE4, UE5), Unity, or comparable proprietary tools.
  • Strong foundational Art skills. Understanding of composition, form, color and light in relation to crafting environments
  • Strong narrative and environmental story telling skills with regards to set dressing and world building
  • Strong understanding of modular workflows as it relates to architectural assembly and asset creation
  • Work closely with tech artists and level leads to ensure optimal performance (polygon count, draw calls, LODs, memory constraints).
  • Advanced knowledge of physically based material workflows and shaders.
  • Understand and implement efficient UV mapping, baking, and texture workflows for asset creation (e.g., trim sheets, tiling textures, texel consistency).
  • Advanced skill in their discipline software. ​ Max, Maya, Blender, Photoshop, and similar software
  • Self-motivated, independent, and has proven ability to self-manage and meet deadlines
  • Photogrammetry experience a Plus +
  • First Person Shooter experience a Plus +
