Job Description

As a Senior Field Application Engineer Lead at Ethernovia, you will be a key member of a world-class team based in San Jose. You will be the primary point of contact between Ethernovia and its customers in the region, requiring strong technical expertise and effective communication skills with multinational clients. Your responsibilities will include taking designs from concept through development and into series production, providing technical support, reviewing schematics and layouts, collaborating with internal engineering teams, and offering on-site customer support. This hands-on role demands demonstrable problem-solving abilities and involves moderate travel.
Must have:
  • BS or MS in Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 6+ years of embedded hardware development.
  • Hands-on experience with Ethernet PHYs, switches or PCIe.
  • High-speed PCB board design, layout and routing experience.
  • Experience with EMC testing, debug and design optimization.
  • PCB net topology extraction and timing analysis.
  • Ability to effectively diagnose and debug problems.
  • Automotive experience at Tier 1, 2 or OEM level.

Senior Field Application Engineer Lead

Job Description:  In this role you will be a part of our world class team located in San Jose and will be responsible for providing direct support of Ethernovia’s customers in the region. As the main interface between customers and our engineering teams you will have high technical competence and the ability to communicate effectively with our multinational customers. Demonstratable problem solving skills are a must for this hands-on role as you will be responsible for taking designs from concept, through the development phase and into series production. Day-to-day activities would include technical support, schematic & layout reviews, working with our internal engineering teams and onsite customer support. As a field-based role moderate travel would be expected.


Key Qualifications

  • BS and/or MS in Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum 6+ years of embedded hardware development
  • Hands-on design experience with at least one of the following: Ethernet PHYs / Ethernet switches / PCIe
  • Hands on design experience covering high speed PCB board design, layout and routing constraints
  • Hands on design experience of EMC testing, debug and design optimization
  • PCB net topology extraction and timing analysis
  • Ability to diagnose and debug problems effectively
  • Automotive experience at Tier 1, Tier 2 or OEM level
