Job Description

Demonware, part of Activision Blizzard (a Microsoft company), is seeking a Senior IT Engineer to support and manage IT infrastructure for its global teams. This role involves providing support across various IT areas, including application support, help desk, asset management, monitoring, data storage, and backup. The engineer will be responsible for solving, diagnosing, and resolving problems efficiently in a studio environment, as well as communicating effectively with diverse teams and users. Key responsibilities include managing network infrastructure, leading technical roles in server, storage, network, and VM planning, maintenance, and migrations, managing identity and access management tools (AD/Entra ID/LDAP, OKTA), cloud-based tools (Azure, GCP, AWS, M365), and endpoint management solutions. The role also involves assisting in developing IT policies, ensuring compliance, providing documentation, mentoring team members, and advocating for AI productivity tools. Global desktop support for on-site and remote users is also a key duty.

The Senior IT Engineer will be responsible for supporting, managing and maintaining the IT infrastructure for our worldwide teams. Role will be reporting into Demonware located in Dublin, Ireland. It will be essential in this role to have the capability and the willingness to provide support in all IT areas including application support, help desk, asset management, monitoring, data storage and backup, as well as special IT projects. The candidate will need to be able to solve, diagnose and resolve problems quickly and efficiently in a studio environment. The candidate will also need to demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of teams and users.

Responsibilities

  • Manage network infrastructure
  • Solve issues and outages
  • Take a lead technical role in server, storage, network and VM planning, configuration and maintenance
  • Take a lead technical role in special IT projects, such as research, migrations and deploying new products
  • Manage AD / Entra ID / LDAP / Google Workspace, as well as various IAM tools (2FA / PRMFA, OKTA, RADIUS)
  • Manage cloud-based tools (Azure, GCP, AWS, M365, Slack, Pagerduty)
  • Set up and support tools for endpoint management and protection, update management, and configuration management (MS Intune, MS Defender, WU4B / MEMCM, ABM / Jamf)
  • Assist in developing and updating IT policies
  • Ensure that all deployments adhere to GIS compliance and policies 
  • Provide documentation for configurations and procedures
  • Provide mentorship and support to other IT team members
  • Be a strong advocate and practitioner of AI productivity tools (Copilot, ChatGPT)
  • Global desktop support for on-site users in multiple offices as well as remote users
  • User account and workstation set up (software and hardware)

Qualifications

  • Detailed understanding of Windows, Linux and Mac environments
  • Previous experience managing Atlassian applications (Confluence, JIRA)
  • Previous experience with server, storage, and network administration
  • Experience managing Entra ID / AD / LDAP and productivity services (M365, Google Workspace)
  • Experience with cloud services (Azure, GCP, AWS)
  • Ability to configure and deploy virtual machines, containers and bare-metal services
  • Strong scripting and automation skills
  • Strong technical documentation skills
  • A team player with superb communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to take a lead role in complex technical projects and deliver on them
  • Prior experience supporting studio game development preferred
  • Experience with game development kits preferred
  • Experience with Kubernetes an advantage
