Job Description

The Senior IT Engineer, Enterprise Systems Technology will oversee system integrations and design solutions to meet the company's evolving needs. This role requires strong technical abilities, strategic thinking, and a deep understanding of IT infrastructure. The engineer will collaborate with teams, promote process improvement, and contribute to a positive work environment. Specific duties include applying technology to business challenges innovatively and influencing the technical direction of Enterprise Systems. This role impacts and enables hundreds of end-users daily as AlphaSense scales. Responsibilities include designing and implementing integration solutions to reduce manual work, designing and supporting networking components, enforcing architectural principles, supporting endpoint security, and maintaining project documentation. The role also involves collaboration with internal and external partners, staying abreast of industry trends, and providing guidance to the team.
Must have:
  • Deep expertise in system integration and identity & access management.
  • Strong proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools and practices.
  • Experience with enterprise device management platforms.
  • Experience managing enterprise SaaS platforms (Okta, MS 365, etc.).
  • Proven background in network administration and troubleshooting.
  • Fundamental experience with virtualization technologies.
  • Familiarity with version control systems (Git).
  • Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash, PowerShell).
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities.

About the Role:

The role of Senior IT Engineer, Enterprise Systems Technology will be responsible for overseeing system integrations, and designing solutions to meet the company's evolving needs. This role requires strong technical abilities, as well as, strategic thinking and a deep understanding of IT infrastructure and emerging technologies. The senior engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams, promote process improvement, and contribute to a positive work environment. Specific duties will require applying technology to business challenges in innovative ways. The senior engineer will be expected to influence the technical direction of the Enterprise Systems at AlphaSense. This role presents an exciting opportunity to impact and enable hundreds of end-users on a daily basis as we scale our hyper-growth organization. 

Who You Are:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent combination of experience and certifications.
  • Deep expertise in system integration technologies and identity & access management platforms, particularly Okta and Okta Workflows.
  • Strong proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools and practices.
  • Hands-on experience with enterprise device management platforms for Windows, macOS, and iOS (e.g., Kandji, Intune, or similar).
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and support enterprise SaaS platforms including Okta, Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Zoom, and Slack.
  • Proven background in network administration, including troubleshooting and performance optimization.
  • Fundamental experience with virtualization technologies such as VMWare, Azure Virtual Desktop, or Hyper-V.
  • Familiarity with version control systems like Git for managing code, automation scripts, and configuration changes.
  • Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash, PowerShell) and experience working with RESTful APIs.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities, with a structured and analytical approach to decision-making.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for diverse audiences.

What You’ll Do: 

  • Design and implement integration solutions to reduce future manual work for projects and tasks using proven scripting practices.
  • Design, implement, and support all networking related components including but not limited to switches, routers, firewalls, VPN or wireless networks for both on-premises and cloud networks.
  • Define and enforce architectural principles, standards, and guidelines to maintain a robust and cohesive IT landscape.
  • Support endpoint security and patch management and collaborate with InfoSec and Compliance to ensure compliance objectives are met.
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including project plans, status reports, and post-project evaluations.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to define integration requirements, develop interfaces, and conduct testing and validation.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to the Enterprise Systems Technology and IT Operations team responsible for solution design and delivery.
