Job Description

The Senior Italian Language Specialist will oversee the translation, editing, and proofreading of Italian video game content from English. This role involves collaborating with client stakeholders to align tone, style, and terminology, driving creative language decisions across various platforms. They will also develop and maintain style guides, glossaries, and linguistic resources, review key assets, manage linguistic escalations, and resolve queries. Furthermore, the specialist will work cross-functionally with internal teams, train and mentor translators, and continuously seek opportunities to optimize localization processes.
Must have:
  • Native-level Italian and fluency in English (written and spoken).
  • Minimum 4 years of experience editing video game content.

Are you a passionate linguist with a love for video games and a knack for ensuring top-tier quality in localization? We're looking for a Senior Italian Language Specialist to join our in-house Berlin team, supporting a leading AAA game client. 

This is a senior-level role with a strong focus on linguistic quality, creative direction, and collaboration. You'll be shaping the voice and consistency of localized content across platforms, supporting both our internal teams and our client’s stakeholders. If you're experienced in MMORPG localization and excited by the idea of influencing creative decisions in gaming, we want to hear from you!  
 
YOUR ROLE

  • Oversee the translation, editing, and proofreading of Italian video game content from English into Italian.
  • Collaborate directly with client-side stakeholders to align tone, style, and terminology.
  • Drive creative language decisions across a variety of game genres and platforms.
  • Develop and maintain style guides, glossaries, and linguistic resources.
  • Review key assets, manage linguistic escalations, and resolve queries.
  • Work cross-functionally with internal teams (Audio, LQA, Project Managers) to ensure linguistic consistency and quality.
  • Train and mentor both internal and external translators on best practices and workflows.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to optimize localization processes.


Your profile

  • Native-level Italian and fluency in English (written and spoken) are a must.
  • Strong communication skills and confidence in client calls and team meetings.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience editing video game content, especially MMORPGs.
  • Solid experience with CAT tools and project management platforms (e.g. memoQ, Jira, MS Office, experience with other tools is a plus.
  • Background in linguistics, translation, or language studies.
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to work effectively under pressure.
  • A passion for gaming and a belief in the power of language to enhance player immersion.
