ROLE SUMMARY:

DMI (Digital Markets Infrastructure) is an ambitious project: large-scale, complex and uses a range of blockchain architecture patterns, with numerous stakeholders (internal and external) and use cases. The work is focused on the tokenisation of financial instruments, i.e. as digital assets.  We seek candidates with an interest in the financial markets with experience of working on large projects. This is a chance to work on an innovative, intellectually challenging project backed by the influential reach of London Stock Exchange Group.

The ideal candidate will leverage their deep expertise in various back-end technologies to drive innovation. They will play an essential role in ensuring the robustness and efficiency of back-end systems across Digital Market Infrastructure.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

• Apply deep expertise in Java and related technologies to guide the design, development, and implementation of robust solutions.

• Lead by example—fostering an open, inclusive, and collaborative team culture. You’ll be responsible for motivating, supporting, and developing team members, while managing performance and retention.

• Drive the successful delivery of high-impact projects, coaching team members to work autonomously and reviewing work as needed.

• Collaborate with product owners and technical leads to plan and design epics, breaking them down into actionable stories. Build and maintain scalable, reliable microservices.

• Partner with a wide range of stakeholders across the business and technology to align on goals and deliver value.

• Mentor developers on best practices for clean, maintainable code and robust automated testing.

• Design and implement performant, resilient, and scalable database solutions using both SQL and NoSQL technologies.

• Maintain clear and comprehensive solution documentation, ensuring alignment with internal standards, policies, and strategic direction across technology domains.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

• Significant hands on experience of programming in Java backend development, with a strong track record of writing efficient, maintainable code.

• Proficiency with Spring (including Spring Boot, Spring JDBC, Spring Data), Hibernate/JPA, and building RESTful services.

• Solid understanding of REST API design principles.

• Experience deploying and maintaining applications in cloud environments (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP).

• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.

• Familiarity with microservices architecture and event-driven systems.

• Exposure to Distributed Ledger Technologies (DLT).

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders across technical and non-technical teams.
