Job Summary

The Senior Manager of Learning and Development at Scout Motors is responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing strategic learning initiatives aligned with organizational goals. This role focuses on enhancing employee performance, engagement, and career growth through impactful training and development opportunities. Key responsibilities include developing L&D strategy, designing leadership and technical programs, managing an L&D team, collaborating with stakeholders, integrating LMS technology, and evaluating program effectiveness.

Must Have

  • Develop and execute comprehensive L&D strategy.
  • Design and implement leadership, onboarding, and technical training programs.
  • Lead and manage L&D professionals and instructional designers.
  • Collaborate with HR and department heads on training needs.
  • Oversee LMS and e-learning platform implementation.
  • Manage L&D budget and vendor contracts.
  • Evaluate training effectiveness using KPIs.
  • 10+ years in L&D, OD, education, or HR business partnering.
  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, OD, or related field.
  • Proven instructional design and adult learning theory experience.
  • Strong project management, communication, and facilitation skills.
  • Experience with LMS and data analytics tools (e.g., SuccessFactors, Power BI).
  • Proficiency in HRIS and talent management systems.
  • Ability to work on-site in Charlotte, NC.

Overview

The Sr. Manager of Learning and Development (L&D) is responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing strategic learning initiatives that align with organizational goals. This role ensures employees at all levels have access to impactful training and development opportunities that enhance performance, engagement, and career growth.

What you’ll do

Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute a comprehensive L&D strategy aligned with business objectives.
  • Program Development: Design and implement leadership development curriculum connected to our Leadership Framework, nomination-based development, onboarding, compliance, and technical training programs.
  • Instructional Design & Facilitation: Design, develop, and facilitate leadership development curriculum aligned with the overall L&D strategy.
  • Team management: Lead a team of L&D professionals, instructional designers, and trainers.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: partner with HR, department heads, and external vendors to assess training and development needs and deliver solutions across Scout Motors.
  • Technology Integration: Oversee the implementation and use of the Learning Management System (LMS) and e-learning platforms to support learner needs throughout the organization.
  • Assessments: define and deploy assessment strategies to support the overall Employee Experience strategy in partnership with the Organization Development Lead. (ex. Shapes, 360’s, etc.)
  • Budget Oversight: Manage the L&D budget, including vendor contracts, and program costs.
  • Performance Measurement: Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs using KPIs and feedback tools.

Location & Travel Expectations

  • This role will be based out of the Scout Motors corporate headquarters in Charlotte, NC. This role may be remote to start but will transition to an in-office setting at the headquarters within 3-6 months of start date. This role is not eligible for remote work in New York City.
  • The responsibilities of this role require daily attendance in office with in-person meetings and events regularly.

  • 10+ years of experience in learning & development, organizational development, education, HR business partnering or equivalent experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Organizational Development, or related field and experience.
  • Proven experience in instructional design, adult learning theory, and digital learning tools
  • Strong project management, communication, and facilitation skills
  • Experience with LMS platforms and data analytics tools (ex. Success Factors, LinkedIn Learning, Qualtrics, Power Bi)
  • Experience in a fast-paced, high-growth organization
  • A growth mindset
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing leadership development programs on a scale
  • Proficiency in HRIS and talent management systems (SAP SuccessFactors or similar system)
  • Experience driving strategic initiatives that lead to measurable results
  • Strong attention to detail, excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence across the organization with executive presence
  • Strong collaboration skills and a willingness to partner with cross-functional teams
  • Minimum of High School Diploma, GED or equivalent required for all roles at Scout Motors, Inc.

Pay Transparency

This is a full-time, exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.

Initial base salary range = $140,000.00 - $170,000.00
