Job Summary

The Barback is responsible for setting up, maintaining, and breaking down assigned bar locations, anticipating Bartenders' needs to ensure timely service, and promoting a positive guest experience. Key duties include assisting in daily operations of the Sphere Food & Beverage department, providing fast and courteous service, transporting products, maintaining bar areas, and ensuring proper storage and presentation of liquor, garnish, and glasses.

Must Have

  • Prior barback experience
  • Ability to work rapidly and remain calm during peak periods
  • Ability to lift, push, pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand for long periods, walk long distances, bend, and constant motion
  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, split days off, weekends and holidays
  • Alcohol Certification Card
  • Food Handler Safety Training Card
  • LVMPD – Non-Gaming Work Card
  • Pour Card or Nevada Bartender Card

Job Description

Who are we hiring?

The Barback is responsible for setting up, maintaining, and breaking down your assigned bar locations. Anticipating the needs of Bartenders so that they can continue to serve snacks and beverages to guests in a timely and responsible manner. Always promote positive guest/client experience and superior customer service.

What will you do?

  • Responsible for assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Sphere Food & Beverage department to ensure a positive guest experience.
  • Responsible for providing fast, professional, and courteous service to all bartenders.
  • Must be able to help supervisors and carry product up and down the stairs from the warehouse to the bar locations in a smooth, efficient, and pleasant manner.
  • Know all bar positions and where all products are housed and ready to transport any/all product at any time when asked to do so.
  • Must also break down machinery including, but not limited to popcorn machines, drink machines, and coolers.
  • Responsible for setting up stock and maintain bar areas including break down and cleanup of bar and bar area.
  • Ensure liquor, garnish, glasses, product, etc. are properly stored and presented; deliver and distribute ice accordingly.
  • Help maintain warehouse area according to Sphere standards by following Southern Nevada Department of Health Code.
  • Provide information to patrons and answer questions/inquiries regarding Sphere facility.

What do you need to succeed?

  • The ideal candidate will have prior barback experience.
  • Must work rapidly and remain calm during peak periods.

Special Requirements

  • General physical requirements such as lifting, pushing, pulling up to 50 lbs., standing for long periods, walking long distances, bending and constant motion is often required.
  • May be exposed to theatrical smoke, strobe lights, pyrotechnics, intense sound, rapid motion video effects, smoke, and odors
  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, have split days off, work weekends and holidays in a 24 X 7 environment.

Hourly Pay Range

$20—$20 USD
