Job Description Summary:

We are looking for a Senior Manager who can drive design, architecture & delivery of our next generation Marketplace tech and platform keeping scalability, robustness and security aspects in focus. The tech you build will be used across multiple countries with each of them being a multi-billion-dollar business for Walmart. You will be challenged with unparalleled complex business problems that span across multiple countries and also catering to various workflows and diverse nature of the operations within a warehouse across countries

About Team:

International Technology team enables our Marketplace, stores and eCommerce operations across the world. The tech that we build are used in most of the markets where Walmart has its presence (outside US)

What You’ll Do

• Lead a team of Top Notch Engineers to successfully build and deploy cutting edge technology
• Lead the delivery of scalable, resilience and cost effective platform and systems
• Focus on goal completion and support teams to overcome the challenges in implementation
• Work with senior leadership to chart out the future roadmap of the products
• Improve, optimize and identify opportunities for efficient software development processes
• Hire, Develop and Retain a strong team of software engineers.
• Exhibit strong leadership and communication skills to collaborate with product, engineering and management teams across different geographic locations
• Promote and support company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity.
• Lead Engineering and operational excellence initiatives and improve maturity scores.
• Interact with Walmart engineering teams across geographies to leverage expertise and contribute to the tech community
• You will come up with quality, best practices, other Non-functional standards, guide the teams to adhere to the standards.
• Foster the culture of innovation, platform thinking and engineering excellence in the teams.

What you'll bring:

• Bachelor's/Master’s degree in Computer Science, engineering, or related field.
• 14 years of relevant experience in building highly resilient, highly scalable systems.
• Marketplace expertise with previous working experience in Marketplace area is desirable·
• Must be able and willing to think and act strategically and tactically
• Strong oral and written communication skills are crucial
• Leadership/management experience leading the engineers.
• A good understanding of CS Fundamentals, Microservices, Data Structures, Algorithms & Problem Solving
• Hands on experience with Java (Must have) and experience of working in cloud based solutions is desirable.
• Should be hands on writing/reviewing design & code.
• Understand the product and project management space with Agile methodologies.
• CI/CD development environments/tools: Git, Maven, Jenkins.
• Demonstrated end-to-end ownership for development and design of least one cloud-based project - Experience in building microservices, data pipelines, extensible platforms is desirable.
• Strong desire to drive change, and ability to adapt to change quickly.
• Proficient in new and emerging technologies.
• Ability to balance the long-term "big picture" and short-term implications of design decisions.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills - including negotiation, facilitation, and consensus building skills; ability to influence and persuade, without direct control.
• Mentoring/coaching Senior staff engineers and other Engineers.
• Focus on reusability, frameworks, patterns and configurations tools for faster development.

Minimum Qualifications:Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 5 years’ experience in software engineering or related area. Option 2: 7 years’ experience in software engineering or related area. 2 years’ supervisory experience.
