The Senior Manager, Transfer Agent Services will manage associates performing daily core and financial intermediary support operations within the Transfer Agent, focusing on service provider management and oversight. The manager will also work with external service providers and internal groups on various projects, representing the team as needed. Transfer Agent Services operates in an outsourced business model, in which service to Russell Investments' clients is highly dependent on service provided by external service providers. Within the Transfer Agent, most functions are either completely outsourced or primarily outsourced with Russell Investments providing service provider oversight and process management as fundamental requirements for the business. The primary responsibility of this position is to manage associates performing daily core and financial intermediary support operations within the Transfer Agent, as well as service provider management and oversight. In addition, this position is responsible for service provider management/oversight and continuous review of processes and procedures.

Years of Experience

10 years of experience inclusive of:

  • At least 5 years of experience within a transfer agent environment
  • At least 5 years of people management experience

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, accounting or equivalent required

Your Core Responsibilities

  • Management of daily core operations within the Transfer Agent, financial intermediary support.
  • Ensure the team completes assigned tasks in a timely and accurate manner in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that all processes and procedures are currently and properly documented in accordance with established policy and applicable regulations. Focus should be on scalable and repeatable processes and procedures designed to mitigate operational risk. Adjust or redesign processes and procedures, as needed, to accommodate the changing environment.
  • Provide daily coaching, support, guidance, and training for team members.
  • Work directly with external service providers and multiple groups within Russell Investments to support a wide range of transfer agent services projects.
  • Represent the team, as assigned, for projects that directly impact the support provided to internal business units, as well as external clients.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Your Expertise

  • Leadership and management skills
  • Experience in an operational environment within the financial services industry, specifically in Transfer Agent Operations with increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team to meet operational process deadlines within a small, high-paced team with multiple responsibilities.
  • Excellent listening, written, and verbal communication skills with ability to influence and lead others.
  • Ability to communicate on behalf of Transfer Agent Services Management with service providers and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to evaluate and document policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Track record of improving processes with data and workflow automation.
  • Ability to function successfully in ambiguous conditions.
  • Well organized, self-starter with the ability to analyze information and support the team.
  • Must be proficient in MS Office and manage large volumes of email correspondence.
  • Ability to understand and solve complex issues and communicate the details to all levels of management.
