Job Summary
ByteDance seeks a Senior Network Software Engineer with RDMA expertise to design and develop high-speed network technologies. Responsibilities include building software and tools to enhance the reliability and availability of their high-speed network infrastructure. The ideal candidate possesses strong Linux network stack knowledge, experience with Linux TC, iptables, and eBPF, and familiarity with TCP/IP and other networking protocols. Experience in developing software for large-scale data center networks or distributed systems is a plus. The role involves working on technologies powering popular apps like Douyin and TikTok, serving millions of users.
Must Have
- Design & development of high-speed network technologies
- Golang/Python/C++ development experience
- Strong Linux network stack understanding (TC, iptables, eBPF)
- TCP/IP and networking protocols knowledge
- Experience with distributed systems
Good to Have
- RDMA/RoCE network protocol familiarity
- Large-scale data center network experience

Job Description
The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $194000 - $410000 annually.
Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
Benefits may vary depending on the nature of employment and the country work location.
