SimCorp is seeking a Senior Payroll Specialist for the APAC region to execute and support payroll operations across multiple entities. The role involves ensuring timely and accurate payroll processing, compliance with local regulations, and alignment with the company's Internal Control System. Responsibilities include processing and validating payroll, performing reconciliations, managing payroll inputs, supporting payroll transformation initiatives, documenting processes, identifying automation opportunities, and collaborating with IT and external partners. The specialist will also ensure adherence to compliance and controls, support audits, maintain confidentiality, and liaise with HR and Finance stakeholders while responding to employee queries.
Must have:
  • 3-5 years of payroll experience
  • Experience supporting payroll projects
  • Proficiency in payroll systems (e.g., WorkDay, ADP, SAP)
  • Solid Excel experience
  • Understanding of APAC payroll regulations
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills
  • Effective communication skills

WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT TO US

The Senior Payroll Specialist – APAC is responsible for executing and supporting payroll operations across multiple entities in the Asia-Pacific market unit. This role ensures timely and accurately payroll processing, compliance with local regulations, and alignment with SimCorp’s Internal Control System (ICS). The role also contributes to payroll transformation initiatives, including process standardization, documentation, and continuous improvement.

WHAT YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

Payroll Operations

  • Process and validate payroll for assigned APAC entities in coordination with local HR and external payroll partners.
  • Ensure compliance with local tax, labor and social security regulations.
  • Perform payroll reconciliations, audits, and reporting.
  • Manage payroll inputs such as new hires, terminations, bonuses, and statutory deductions.

Project Support and Process Improvement

  • Support payroll transformation and standardization projects across the region.
  • Assist in documenting payroll processes and workflows.
  • Identify opportunities for automation and efficiency improvements.
  • Collaborate with IT and external payroll partners to implement system enhancements.

Compliance and Controls

  • Ensure payroll processes adhere to SimCorp’s Internal Control System (ICS).
  • Support internal and external audits by providing accurate documentation and reports.
  • Maintain confidentiality and data security in all payroll activities.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Liase with HR, Finance, and external payroll partners to ensure smooth payroll operations.
  • Respond to employee payroll queries in a timely and professional manner.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.

Experience:

  • Three to five years of payroll experience, an experience in a regional or multi-country APAC role is beneficial
  • Experience supporting payroll projects or process improvements.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in payroll systems such as WorkDay, ADP, SAP, etc.
  • Solid Excel experience and familiarity with data validation and reconciliation.
  • Exposure to project management tools is a plus.

Knowledge:

  • Understanding of payroll regulation across key APAC countries.

Soft Skills:

  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
