Job Description

The Maya Pipeline Developer collaborates with Pipeline Leads to build a Maya pipeline supporting Modeling, Rigging, Animation, and Tracking/Matchmove using OpenUSD. They create intuitive, self-documenting workflows for artists of all skill levels, ensuring efficient operation on complex scenes. Responsibilities include solving complex Maya pipeline problems, writing high-quality Python code, communicating with artists to gather requirements and identify inefficiencies, and contributing to technical briefs and user documentation.
Must have:
  • 8+ years experience writing Maya pipeline code using Python
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Design intuitive, artist-friendly workflows
  • Understand object-oriented programming patterns
  • Comfortable with Git and unit testing
  • Probe and understand complex systems
  • Passion for learning latest Maya features
Good to have:
  • Experience as an artist using Maya in production
  • Experience writing a Maya pipeline using OpenUSD
  • C++ programming experience
  • PDG/TOPs experience

Job Details

The Maya Pipeline Developer collaborates with Pipeline Leads to build a Maya pipeline that spans Modeling, Rigging, Animation, and Tracking/Matchmove, using OpenUSD as a backbone. They leverage their production experience to create intuitive and self-documenting workflows that can be quickly adopted by users of differing skill levels, and which can operate efficiently on scenes of extreme scale and complexity. 

Key Responsibilities

    • Solve complex problems in the domain of Maya pipeline workflows
    • Write high quality Python code that is easy to maintain and is well-tested 
    • Communicate with artists to identify areas of inefficiency and help gather their requirements
    • Contribute to technical briefs and user documentation

Qualifications

    • Passion for staying on top of latest features in Maya
    • 8+ years experience writing Maya pipeline code using python
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Demonstrated talent for designing intuitive, artist-friendly workflows without sacrificing functionality
    • Understanding of object-oriented programming patterns
    • Comfortable with git and unit testing
    • Desire to probe and understand the inner workings of complex systems
    • Experience as an artist using Maya in production preferred
    • Experience writing a Maya pipeline using OpenUSD preferred
    • Experience programming in C++ preferred

    • Maya 파이프라인 워크플로우 영역에서 생기는 복잡한 문제 해결
    • 유지, 보수가 쉽고 검증된 높은 퀄리티의  Python 코드 작성
    • 아티스트와 소통하여 비 효율적인 부분을 파악하고 요구사항을 수집
    • 기술 보고서와 사용자 문서 작성에 참여

자격

    • 최신 Maya를 지속으로 배우고 탐구하려는 의지
    • 8년 이상의 Python을 사용한 Maya 파이프라인 코드작성 경력
    • 뛰어난 문서 작성 및 커뮤니케이션 능력
    • 기능성을 유지하면서도 직관적이고 아티스트 친화적인 워크플로우를 설계할수 있는 역량
    • 객체 지향 프로그래밍 패턴에 대한 이해
    • Git 와 단위 테스트에 익숙하신 분
    • 복잡한 시스템의 내부 구조에 대한 탐구와 이해에 열정이 있으신 분
    • FX아티스트로서 프로덕션에서 Maya 사용 경험이 있는 분 우대 
    • OpenUSD를 사용한 Maya 파이프라인 구축 실무 경험 우대
    • PDG/TOPs 경험 우대
    • C++ 프로그래밍 경험 우대
