Senior Product Owner

ELK Studios is a leading game developer in iGaming, known for innovative and popular titles such as the Pirots, Cygnus, Gold, and Nitropolis series. We push the boundaries of what slots can be and are now looking for more individuals who have the will and ability to create games that stand out.

About the role

As a Senior Product Owner, you own the creative direction for each game. You develop new, groundbreaking concepts that do not exist on the market today, while also participating in the further development of our established game series. You are responsible for the game's mechanics, visual expression, overall game feel, and ensure that everything is cohesive. You belong to a team of Product Owners and report to our CPO.

Your workdays will consist of:

• Game Vision & Concept Development: You define the creative direction for each game, from basic idea to storytelling, mechanics, and feel. You create and own the Game Design Document (GDD) and ensure the entire team is on board.
• Creative Leadership throughout the process: You are the driving force throughout the entire development cycle and are responsible for ensuring the game holds together and meets ELK Studios' high quality requirements.
• Collaboration: Work closely with the Art Director, Creative Director, developers, and company management to ensure the game's direction.
• Iteration & Refinement: You test, evaluate, and refine game moments, pacing, visual effects, and player feedback to create a dynamic and engaging gaming experience.
• Innovation & Quality: You dare to think new and challenge the established – always with the player in focus and driven by ELK Studios' ambitions.
• Communication with stakeholders: You clearly present ideas and game visions, justify changes, and ensure all involved parties are in sync throughout the process.

Who are you?

We believe you have a technical background and several years of experience in a similar role within game development, preferably in iGaming or slots. You have a great interest in both game mechanics and user experience, and understand what engages different types of players.

You thrive in a role where you can take significant ownership of the creative work, and where you can combine strategic thinking with creative excellence. You are a clear communicator and a person who inspires others to collaborate and do their best.

To succeed in the role, you need to be:

• Genuinely interested in slots and gambling - you understand what engages players
• Analytical and understands games in depth – not just what is fun, but why it is fun, and how different design choices affect the gaming experience.
• Creative and driven - You are not afraid to challenge industry norms or test untried ideas.
• An inspirer who can drive and motivate cross-functional teams. You have a clear vision but also openness to listen and adjust based on feedback.
• Structured & strategic with the ability to break down large ideas into concrete work processes and manage multiple projects in parallel.
• Communicative & pedagogical - You are accustomed to presenting ideas, solutions, and changes clearly, both in writing and orally, in Swedish and English.
• Technically knowledgeable and curious and have an understanding of how design choices affect production, technology, and deadlines.
