Ramboll is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Project Engineer to support its Data Center Sector across Northeast offices. The role involves leading and managing civil engineering projects from conception to construction, overseeing detailed designs for infrastructure like site layout, grading, drainage, utilities, and roadways, ensuring compliance with regulations and sustainability goals. The engineer will also manage client interactions, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, prepare documentation, manage risks, and integrate new technologies.
Must have:
  • Lead and manage civil engineering projects from conception through construction.
  • Provide technical guidance to project teams.
  • Oversee and develop detailed civil engineering designs for infrastructure projects.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and Ramboll’s sustainability goals.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and maintain strong professional relationships.
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to integrate civil engineering solutions.
  • Prepare and review detailed engineering reports, specifications, and construction documents.
  • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Stay current with industry trends and innovations.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in civil engineering, with a strong focus on site layout and stormwater design projects.

Your new role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Project Engineer focused on supporting Ramboll’s Data Center Sector across our Northeast offices. The successful candidate will play a critical role in the planning and preliminary design phases of data center projects, as well as supporting civil engineering practice area projects.

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Project and Team Leadership: Lead and manage civil engineering projects from conception through construction, ensuring timely and efficient delivery while providing technical guidance to project teams.
  • Design and Development: Oversee and develop detailed civil engineering designs for infrastructure projects such as site layout, grading, drainage, utilities, and roadways, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations as well as Ramboll’s sustainability goals.
  • Client Interaction and Collaboration: Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs, present design solutions, and maintain strong professional relationships; work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, environmental, geotechnical, mechanical and electrical engineers, and construction professionals to integrate civil engineering solutions.
  • Project Documentation and Risk Management: Prepare and review detailed engineering reports, specifications, and construction documents; identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
  • Innovation: Stay current with industry trends and innovations, integrating new technologies and practices into project delivery.

Qualifications

About you

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience: 7+ years of experience in civil engineering, with a strong focus on site layout and stormwater design projects.
  • Licensure: Active Professional Engineering licensure preferred

At Ramboll, your base pay is only part of your overall total compensation package. At the time of this posting, this role is likely to be compensated at an annual base salary between $96,677 - $120,846. Actual pay may be more or less than the posted range, depending on numerous factors, including experience, geographical location, internal equity, market conditions, education/training and skill level, and does not include bonuses, overtime, or other forms of compensation or benefits.
