Job Description

About Us

Chimera Entertainment is an independent game development studio based in Munich. Since 2006, we’ve been creating our own IPs—like Songs of Silence—as well as high-profile work-for-hire projects, delivering games for PC, console, and mobile. With almost two decades of experience, we’ve built a strong reputation for quality across genres and platforms.

We believe great games come from a team that takes ownership, collaborates openly, and holds itself to high standards. Whether refining game mechanics, balancing economies, or crafting immersive worlds, we focus on player experience, smart decisions, and technical excellence.

With short decision-making paths and a culture built on trust and responsibility, every contribution matters. If you’re looking for a studio where your work has impact, your ideas shape projects, and no two challenges are the same—welcome to Chimera.

Your role:

As a Project Lead (f/m/d), you’ll take on one of our upcoming PC/console RPG from its early stage and drive it through to release. This is a hands-on role where you combine producer mentality with project management: engaging directly with the game, prioritizing features, and making the right trade-offs between time, quality, and budget.

You’ll keep the team and stakeholders aligned, remove roadblocks, and make sure development stays focused on delivering a fun and polished player experience.

The kind of stuff you’ll be doing

  • Take full ownership of a new PC/console RPG project from early stage through release.
  • Define and track milestones, schedules, and deliverables — keeping time, quality, and budget in balance.
  • Coordinate and support a cross-functional team of ~12 developers (design, tech, art, QA).
  • Continuously review the game’s progress, ensuring features and priorities align with the intended player experience.
  • Drive the release process: from milestone builds to localization, QA, certification, and Steam submission.
  • Align with stakeholders — internal leads, external partners, and clients — to keep goals and expectations clear.
  • Anticipate risks, remove blockers, and solve problems before they escalate.
  • Collaborate closely with senior management and keep them informed about project progress and key decisions.
  • Contribute to improving production standards and workflows within the studio.

Your profile:

  • Games industry experience: A minimum of 5 years in game production/project management.
  • Track record: At least one fully shipped PC title on Steam, with hands-on involvement in the full release cycle.
  • Development knowledge: Deep understanding of all phases of game development, from early stage to release.
  • Producer mentality: Beyond checklists — you can prioritize features and make smart trade-offs between time, quality, and budget while keeping the player experience in focus.
  • Project management skills: Solid knowledge of tools and agile methods (e.g. Scrum, Jira).
  • Communication: Strong skills in aligning and managing stakeholders (internal partners, external clients, publishers).
  • Languages: Excellent English skills, both written and spoken; German is a plus.
  • Location: This is an onsite role in Munich. Relocation support is provided.

What's in for you?

  • Flat hierarchy in a friendly atmosphere in a flexible working environment
  • A creative, casual, and international workplace right in the heart of Munich
  • Full public transport coverage in Munich (Deutschlandticket)
  • Lunch Budget (up to 50 €/month)
  • Relocation Support to Munich
  • Professional Health Coaching with a Sports Scientist & Medical Training Therapist (OLAO HEALTH) - digital and live
  • A well-stocked library with books, games, and games consoles
  • Free drinks, fairtrade coffee and fruits onsite
  • Regular team & company events like focus days, Devsummits, and Xmas Party.
  • And a lot of fun :-)
